Another example in steel. I'd also want the lower landing to have a linear area mirroring that seen near the upper landing. This would create a larger opening to below/above.

Another great example of what I want. Only difference might be to separate the distance between the entry and exit points and deepen the distance between the landing and the back wall as necessary to traverse between both levels comfortably (each step being more shallow than standard stairs in most homes).

Near perfect example of my desired staircase. Only thing I would change if possible is to have a larger central opening. But if Engineering math says "not possible", then center the opening above the entry foyer, add walking space between the staircase and the side wall of the home and call it a day.

Another great example of the feel I am looking for. Completely unsupported open winder staircase.

General feel of what I want, but this one makes a 135 degree rotation between floors whereas I would only want a 180 degree turn between each floor. My desire to have a longer, more oval rather than a circular skylight opening can be remedied using linear entry/exit steps similar to that shown in the area where the person in the picture is approaching.
