HERE! light oak floors, dark wood cabinetry & furnishings w/ light/alternate toned wood shelving w/ white tile backsplash -- i do prefer the classic " 4" square white tiles" to this newer version or even to subway tiles -- at least in the kitchen.

white oak floors w/ dark cabinetry again -- would again here -- do color pop only for island, two tone things w/ darker wood stain for cabinets -- still even keeping color pop w/ light shelving...

Lighter floors w/ darker wood work -- do not really care for decor style here --but it's pretty -- the choices of color splash/pop do liven things up well :-)

tile meets hardwood sister -- color pop, easier "wear" and cleaning on hardwood -- tile accommodates 'water' room -- quite a bit cooler in winter tho. oh well.

more grey than I like... but definitely prefer "light" cabinetry w/ darker/different colored island for accent/blend/"pop" .. GREAT light fixtures (hanging) -- brighten any room w/ glass
