Kitchen remodel

The color combination of brown-grey, warm wood, and white sink feels very inviting and calming; I am wary of wood countertops, however. I like the vertical lines in the walls, but prefer the backsplash in picture #3

Different levels in cabinetry--or rather, how the cabinetry appears, with the sink and wine cooler breaking it up--give a unique spin without feeling cluttered

While I don't like the particular features of this room, what very much appeals to me is the mix of colors and textures--the grey(-green) color surrounding the fireplace with the brushed color of the wood and the harmony with the white trim and cabinets.

This gives me a sense of the open, entertaining layout that we're trying to create, even though this isn't exactly our design. It has the open view of the kitchen while still maintaining a boundary between kitchen and living (or between host and guest, if entertaining). Funny how similar the fireplace is to what we currently have!
