This tile pattern isn't bad and is something Doug could probably do. But what about cleaning grout lines? I HATE cleaning grout!

I like the herringbone slate patterned floor, but I wonder how hard it would be to clean. I like the color pallette of the home in general and think we'll eventually go with some sort of gray exterior in the future.

I like the tile sizes. Perhaps the black slate would be more timeless.

If we were to have a window with natural light in the mudroom, perhaps we could use the frosted glass door idea to create a brighter space on the other side. I like the tile that looks like wood.
