Kitchen Range Hoods

Like the way this range hood blends in.

Like integrated look of hood. Upper cabs coming down beside stove/range looks nice & gives more storage (= hutch style cabs). Could extend upper cabs down to counter all along our stove wall. Would still have lots of counter space on sink run.

Like the way this hood integrates into cabs. Also tall cabs instead of bulkheads.

range hood -- like it to blend with cabs --> should it slant like this one or be a box to blend better with cabs? Ideally it would be flush with cabs (like 1st 2 pics & match cabs to totally blend in).

Range hood is a Faber Cristal slide out model --> slide in when not in use to blend with cab above. Can add strip to front to match cabs. Love aesthetics, but does it work well. Good ventilation is a priority.

Hmmm, if have to have hood --> put range in (approximately) current location --> this is an interesting treatment (blends hood into shelf which hides lighting underneath . Could have angled corner cab bet sink & range for appliances instead of wall shelf --> less upper cabs (which opens things up), but corner cab would still give good appliance storage (could put micro on shelf with assorted smaller appliances inside cab on counter). And "shelf" could actually be a row of 12" cabs to tie this unit into rest of kitchen & give storage. Wouldn't clutter up shelf like this though. Also liking separate wall oven on our pantry wall --> nice run of lower cabs below sink & stovetop, puts rarely used oven out of way, & puts more storage close in for everyday items.

If put range on sink wall & don't go with a wall fan (1st choice), this hood is nice. Looks like they enclosed the guts with wood &/or wall board & then painted it to match the walls --> more unity.

Interesting way that range hood stands our & yet matches the cabs - cool, but would lose a bit storage space.

Worst of both worlds - hood can't decide if it want to blend in or stand out. Some of these fancy hoods (zinc ones) cost up to $15K.

If we don't use a wall fan or bury range hood in a "box", then make it a statement like this. Texas Lightsmith Nickel Silver Range Hood #40. And this is our combo incl bead board.

This is the way the Swann's hood in Jumby worked. I'd want to supplement this with a wall vent.

Seems like many island cooktops are hoodless, like this one. Guess that they have a builtin vent, like the Swann's have at Jumby.
