Kitchen Layout
- If have island, have 2 stools under an overhang on 1 end.
- Kitchen & Bath Concepts of Pittsburgh- Winners of more National Kitchen & Bath Association design awards than any firm in the country…according to their ad on Houzz.
- Could put range on window wall near French door & sink on other end of window wall. This run is 11.5’ –> 3’sink, 30” range, 6’ counter run –> could arrange from left to right: 12” counter, 30” range, 3.5’ counter, 3’ sink, 18” counter. This run could be deeper than 24” (maybe 27") so that range is tucked in. Current range wall could have reg lower cabs (24-27” deep) with deeper uppers (15"-18 deep) from ceiling to countertop leaving a 9” strip of counter space in front of upper cabs.
- can we remove bulkhead above eating area? Not critical, but cabs here would match others better. Ideally, would remove all bulkheads.
- Small strip of counter & cab to left of our range in window wall –> make this a wheeled cab turned to back to range –> avoids odd little counter strip, could use as a island when wanted, could be pushed into pantry if temporarily need a corner for something else
Okay to have some top cabs come down onto counter leaving a strip of counter in front = hutch-style cabs. Thinking of doing this on either side of range. Or, if put range on window wall or in island, then entire wall where range is now could have an arrangement like this, except with appliance garages where drawers are.
This is the layout I'm proposing for our pantry wall. Would put a wood countertop on this section to tie in with our table wall. Also, more drawers. Here, lower cab is 24" deep & upper is 15" deep, so a 9" counter in front works. If our range & fridge walls have deeper lower cabs (27-30"), then should have room for nice deep micro in appliance garage.
Little strip of counter & cab to left of sink looks odd --> we will have a sim one to left of our range (if put it on window wall) --> make it a cabinet cart on wheels turned so that back of it is toward range. Could move out to be a temporary island, or roll away into pantry if temporarily need corner for something else. Locking wheels. Better still, just put cooktop here.
Another setup with open shelves beside range. Thinking that this is not the look we want, though I do like the open feeling.
Like small cabs above--can we eliminate our bulkheads? Although, with 8' ceilings, probs not room for small cabs above if have appliance garages below.
Really liking drawers below counters (easy access) with bin pulls. Is there any reason to have any cabs below? Also, is this a real or faux cab above range?
Sink in window wall backing to range in island.
