So that’s a done deal Okay - you want white walls - no yellow, but you are shining a yellow light on white. You cannot get a true neutral white with yellow light. You would need to balance the yellow from the light by adding purple to the paint. As you add color you are going further from white and toward gray. Take your sample outside on a clear day about 2:00 in the afternoon to see what the actual color looks like without blue or yellow influence from lighting.

Reply to: Well...you asked...look for property that you like that allows a southern orientation for the major public spaces of your house. What good is a western exposure when you have to pull the drapes, draw the shades and shut the shutters all afternoon...? Look at the sun angles for western sun. Hint: it's a constant problem all year long, and nothing will prevent the sun entering and making interior spaces unusable in the afternoon: PS: Don't be seduced by western views. What good are they if you have to pull the drapes for the afternoon?

Reply to: First off, remove the rug (it looks like an area rug) and allow the floor full exposure to "air". Secondly, bring in some BIG (industrial) fans. Get some SERIOUS ventilation over these floors. Do so AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Because you caught this quickly you can QUICKLY save these floors. You need to DRY THEM OUT. And do it now. Find commercial rental products such as industrial fans/ventilators and get them in there ASAP. Let them run, and run, and run, and run. You will leave them on (24/7) until the wood is COMPLETELY dry. This could be a week or so. Don't skimp on the electricity bill. Let the fans run. It is cheaper to pay another $100 in electricity than it is to rip-out/replace a house full of wood. Good luck. You've caught this quickly. You can quickly get your floors back in order by getting the industrial fans on them.
