Interesting w/o being overwhelming. The rug is doing the heavy lifting and the contemporary table/chairs is an interesting contrast. We don’t have that much ornamentation on our walls, so I don’t know if it would be as interesting in our house.

This is very similar to ours in terms of layout and floor color/chair rail/ceiling. I’m not wild about the color on the walls, but don’t hate it. I think it complements the dining set really well & I like that they added interest to the room in the form of the colorful chairs and curtains.
