Possibly just have lower cabinets on the sides of the fireplace.

We like this look with a mix of wood and stone. We would be open to a side by side fireplace/tv combo, but would want the tv centered in the room instead of the fireplace. I also think it would be nice to have a hearth run the length of both to tie them together. You could also do the rustic wood along the wall behind both to make it look like one piece with some cabinets below the tv.......

Kind of like this stone. Not sure if we should do brick style stone or big flat stones. We are leaning towards brick style.

REALLY like this look! Like the tv set into the stone, like this specific fireplace, like the hearth, and the stone color. Not sure we would want the entire wall, floor to ceiling, covered in stone (???). Where would tv boxes go??? Is larger flat stone better than the brick type stones?
