How about a pine floor ? Oak is going to be about 10k for wide boards , 8k for normal 6inch wide. Might be worth exploring alternatives, maybe a cheaper board with the right finish ?

I'd keep the colour in the soft furnishings and paintings...change them our every so often...if one removed the cushions here and you've a blank canvas colourwise
