saving bc first i have seen in actual dining area and the wall would be like ours just opposite side.

we don't have a wall on the left side, but you get the idea all my pics are leaning toward. clean lines, add art. needs to be incorporated into the d.r. and l.r. since it would be such a presence. somewhere a mix between modern and transitional to go with l.r.

simple ,understated. i think something different behind. maybe you could paint the wall a darker gray instead of the heavy bar. wouldn't feel as weighty

only showing this for the floating shelf. ours would be functional not display. although you could display on top of it. but have cool glasses in shelves, stereo where sink is.

could put this glass in the middle and instead of wine do the stereo and records. could be pretty cool make it look like an art piece

Would it be cheesy to use glass as a backsplash? not glass tiles, but glass?! That is mirror not glass. It might be a little 70's

i'm afraid something this big and dark will look too heavy on that side of the room. esp when it is so open and airy thru to the living room. these also aren't modern looking that could help

This is by Renewal Design Build here in Atlanta looks like a kitchen hence the fridge on the left. need to be careful since it is seen from l.r. and dining so needs dressing up more sophistication

I don't think we want to do this, but if we wanted to create more space we could potentially go back underneath the stairs a bit. directly behind the wall in the dining room is the stairs going up to girls' floor

darker grey, exposed wine fridge, cabinets and shelves....they have a little of every style

all white, some open shelves combined with cabinets with lattice work. Maybe the thing that covers the cabinets up top would be the same as the covering for the speakers?! not lattice too traditional, but we could find something more modern

wine fridge and ice maker are covered/hidden with cabinetry. We need to make sure that we buy a standard size if we buy appliances so it's easy to replace if we have to down the road. does it make sense to have a small fridge for beer/mixers? maybe. we'll have a second fridge in basement. it may eat up too much space along with your speakers. we need to map out all we are going to have in there first

Do we do a darker cabinet? I assumed white, but maybe a "gun metal grey"? Do we do a tile backsplash or leave as sheetrock? no tile it's not a kitchen. a cool modern wallpaper might be the answer

white cabinetry, top shelves are not as deep as the bar/bottom part. Will prob make the entire thing feel less deep
