The smaller drawers make a lot of sense to me...
I like the simple drawers, and shelves above the rods.
I like the general layout, although I think I would prefer using white rather than wood.
I like the slant at the top, the kickboard, and the slightly higher volume of drawers.
Might be worth considering not going all the way to the ground.
