The Snug is a cosy, thermally efficient home for a couple of young professionals on a modest Coburg block. The brief called for a modest extension to the existing Californian bungalow that better connected the living spaces to the garden. The extension features a dynamic volume that reaches up to the sky to maximise north sun and natural light whilst the warm, classic material palette complements the landscape and provides longevity with a robust and beautiful finish.

This garden room replaces an existing conservatory. Unlike the conservatory, the new extension can be used all year round - it is both light and well insulated - and does not suffer from noise when it rains. A glazed lantern (or cupola) allows light to reach the existing dining room (to which the garden room connects) and upon opening the automated windows, quickly removes unwanted warm air. Windows on three sides provide views of the terraced garden beyond. The building is formed with a Somerset Blue Lias stone base, rendered masonry and a traditional lead rolled roof.

English⬇️ RU⬇️ To start the design of the two-story apartment with a terrace, we held a meeting with the client to understand their preferences and requirements regarding style, color scheme, and room functionality. Based on this information, we developed the design concept, including room layouts and interior details. After the design project was approved, we proceeded with the renovation of the apartment. This stage involved various tasks, such as demolishing old partitions, preparing wall and floor surfaces, as well as installing ceilings and floors. The procurement of tiles was a crucial step in the process. We assisted the client in selecting the appropriate materials, considering their style and budget. Subsequently, the tiles were installed in the bathrooms and kitchen. Custom-built furniture and kitchen cabinets were also designed to align with the overall design and the client's functional needs. We collaborated with furniture manufacturers to produce and install them on-site. As for the ceiling-mounted audio speakers, they were part of the audio-visual system integrated into the apartment's design. With the help of professionals, we installed the speakers in the ceiling to complement the interior aesthetics and provide excellent sound quality. As a result of these efforts, the apartment with a terrace was transformed to meet the client's design, functionality, and comfort requirements. --------------- Для начала дизайна двухэтажной квартиры с террасой мы провели встречу с клиентом, чтобы понять его пожелания и предпочтения по стилю, цветовой гамме и функциональности помещений. Мы помогли клиенту выбрать подходящий материал, учитывая его стиль и бюджет. После этого была проведена установка плитки в ванных комнатах и на кухне. Встраиваемая мебель и кухонные шкафы также были разработаны с учетом дизайна и функциональных потребностей клиента. Already a successful holiday let, but in need of updated decor and soul, the owner came to us looking to create a Scandinavian Coastal vibe. Removing the downstairs carpet and installing wooden floors as well as full decoration throughout with new fabrics adorning the windows. The outside was landscaped with new patio and BBQ area, creating a haven for guests to enjoy their holiday. Sea Breeze is booked on average 48 weeks per annum and is an excellent example of a consistent holiday home.

The interior of the home was intended as a "cave" providing shelter from the elements but allowing as much outlook as possible from all rooms. The double height windows are broken down with mid level sunshading and fabric pleated blinds to control privacy and sunlight penetration. The bifold doors at the end of the space open out into the treetops to provide alfresco eating under a shade cloth roof.
