GRT Architecture

We chose GRT after seeing one of their projects near by. We had an idea of what we wanted to build but needed someone who could help and refine it. Joe listened very carefully to what our vision was and came back to us with a number of really great concepts. With further refining he designed what we think is an outstanding design. He helped us through the tricky process of gaining permission from our local planning authority ( our house is in a conservation area) and together we finalised what we think is an excellent project. I liked his patience, understanding and vision and there is no doubt his experience of working packages of new development onto old buildings in our case was the thing that we really benefited from. Our own view was that the expense incurred was wholly justified for the design, guidance and support Joe gave us. Recommending the services of others can sometimes not go well but in GRT ‘s and Joe’s case I heartily recommend them.

I used GTR Architecture to re-develop three garages into a double garage with one bedroom apartment above. I am highly delighted with the design and style that suited the location well and maximised utilisation of the available space and Dave came up with some excellent sugestions. Throughout the build stage, which they managed, there was rapid and satisfactory response to problems arising. Communication was excellent with frequent meetings and they were an excellent firm to deal with. The property has been much admired.

We chose this particular practice for the design, and style they produce. We have worked on several of their projects as a subcontractor to a main contractor, so had prior knowledge of their work. We delt with david who diligently designed our project, incorporating the specific requirements of ours into his design. Construction drawings, advise and specification were produced in good time and he worked well with other proffesionals such as structural engineer ensuring these elements met requirments without detracting from our internal and external design scheme. Overall we are very happy with Davids work and professionalism, and will use him again on our projects in the future.

From the very first meeting with Dave we felt at ease and confident that he listened to and understood what our project ideas were and how to translate them into achievable plans. With our particular house it would have been easy to adopt a very straight forward refurbishment and extension, however with Dave’s support and enthusiam we have achieved something unique, within budget and completely suited to how we want to live in our home. Dave was professional throughout with well thought out responses and suggestions. He kept us informed throughout the various stages and was always available to answer our questions. We have not finished our project yet as we are doing the work ourselves, so no photos unfortunately!

Did a brilliant job of listening to our requirements and coming up with an innovative design for our extension that meets our needs, fits in perfectly with the existing house and garden and gives wonderful views of the wider landscape. GRT dealt with planning application with minimal delays or changes required. The result is a multi functional addition to the house that we have been very pleased with and is much admired by visitors.

GRT were quick to understand my brief for the Annexe we have constructed. It was a relatively small build but is full of character and blends in with our existing property very well. The builder was very pleased with the drawings and did not have any problems working with them. GRT were also on hand immediately with the few queries we had.

They are a professional reliable Architecture business that I have communications with on a daily basis with ease, we are a medium sized building company who has felt with GRT no only in a professional capacity but also chosen them for large personal projects, I would not hesitate to recommend them.

GRT have been very helpful and supported us with a difficult grade 2 listed project. They have good knowledge of the regulations and processes and are prepared to give the extra support needed to get things done.

GRT came highly recommended to us and we have not been disappointed. From the outset we set up a great rapport with Joe. He listened to what we wanted and we were impressed by his ideas. We knew this would not be an easy process: we live in a listed cottage in a conservation area, a site of special scientific interest and a world heritage buffer zone. But Joe expertly guided us through the process and we are delighted with the design he came up with for our garage. We would not hesitate to use GRT again, and we have already recommended them to friends.

Joe looked after our project and had the patience of a saint ... he accommodated our changes of heart without any stress or pressure. His designs were excellent and very imaginative. We were very impressed.

Have worked with Joe on 2 projects, one complete and one ongoing. Everything we've asked for has been done quickly and efficiently with meetings held at appropriate times. Attention to detail has been maintained throughout. Probably like most clients we have chopped and changed along the way but nothing has been too much trouble.
