Humber Architecture is an independent architectural technology practice based in Eastbourne, specialising in high-quality, sustainable design for residential and commercial projects across Sussex and beyond. Founded by Aaron Humber, a CIAT-accredited Architectural Technologist with a Master’s degree in the Sustainability of the Built Environment, we combine creative design with technical expertise, science, and practical buildability. Our focus is on delivering buildings that work beautifully for the people who use them — while minimising environmental impact and future-proofing your investment. Aaron has been so helpful and informative about a recent project we were thinking of undertaking. His ideas and personable attitude in a very timely manner were very much appreciated when thinking about taking on a big project. The project didn't end up going ahead for us but we will be back in touch with Aaron quick smart when the next opportunity arises.

We are very happy to recommend Aaron as he has given us an outstanding service. Although ours is a small project, Aaron still gave it his full care and effort and made it clear that we were important to him throughout the process, from first consultation to setting up the build. We were struck by how much he listened to what we wanted, advising us and offering alternatives where appropriate. We had a limited budget which we shared with him from the outset and he referred to that at every stage so that we kept on target. Aaron is very patient and has great attention to detail, and is happy to explain each step and the impact of each decision, preparing several sets of drafts so that we could agree what we wanted with what we could afford before he submitted the plan for approval. He followed up on the application and then recommended a professional building company, attending the meetings with the builders and acting as our go-between in setting out what we wanted and could achieve within budget. We would definitely use him again for any further works.

Contacted Aaron for advice regarding fire lobbies in a block of flats where I live. Aaron, was very supportive and provided clear concise advice that enabled me and residents to challenge management companies proposals. Aaron's advice saved a considerable amount of money.

Design projects Aaron @ Humber architecture has helped us with a couple of projects - including advice on design of a home office and general design ideas in our home. On both occasions Aaron took us through various options including supply - and very helpfully presented options using a mood board, reviewing everything from ceiling lights to blinds to flooring to TV placement to desk to storage options.

Having bought a flat in a Grade 2 listed building I needed a creative architect who knew how to apply for planning permission for such a project. Aaron was recommended to me and he came up with some exciting ideas. He dealt with the planners in a timely and efficient way and plans were passed. the actual building work was delayed because of the Covid Pandemic, but now I am happily enscoced in my forecver home! Thanks Aaron!

In consultation stage. Looking at specific properties that meet our need, fact finding, problem solving as a Community Interest Company we have a slightly different budget model re our finance. Aaron has been amazing at finding out best practice, finding the right team, talking through every stage and its possibilities/pitfalls so we understand all potential costs, and legal issues...gave great advice to a novice re leases/terms and Planning times, council requirements etc....he has been a rock in this expanding time of our business. His knowledge is amazing and he seeks out the best for his client. Highly recommend so far.

Commented: Flooring advice for kitchen and living spaceWood flooring will add some warmth to the room however Travertine, Limestone or Marble floors will create a timeless classic floor that will last the test of time. .

Commented: Window choicesI would suggest putting sash windows back there are loads of options avalible. UPVC woodgrain effect sash windows come double glazed and can be very cost effective.

Commented: curtains..drywall..cottage windows?Curtains would help keep the heat in during the colder months and soften the window opening, as its a small window you can buy the curtains off the shelf which would be much more affordable.
