About Us

Originate Architects is a studio-based group of architects, interior designers and furniture specialists offering a design service that covers all aspects of high-end residential projects including new-build houses, the sensitive restoration of listed properties, underground extensions and residential interior decoration, including bespoke furniture design and sourcing. Our design approach is collaborative and analytical. We deliver non-formulaic, completely bespoke solutions. The homes we create reflect our clients’ needs and aspirations. We have received a number of industry design awards and believe that our dedicated and cohesive team of designers and architects can offer an outstanding level of client service! The main studio is in London and we take on projects predominantly in Central London in areas including Kensington & Chelsea, Fulham, Belgravia, Mayfair, St Johns Wood and Maida Vale. They're always open to our ideas and managed the projects that we worked on together professionally and efficiently to stunning effect. Working with David on the Duke of York conversion was our third project together. Looking forward to the next one!

Both Davids were great on the DYS project in London where we converted office space to high end residential. They have a keen eye for exceptional detail and were always on hand to assist in design related queries throughout the project. Would happily work with Originate again on other residential schemes.

Originate have a rare blend of design flair and technical competence and we enjoyed working with them on the Mayfair apartments. Their original concept of splitting the apartments into two levels to share the height of the existing building spaces was very clever and in my view brought great value to the project both financially and in design terms.

It was a real pleasure working with Tara Hack from Originate! Truly one of the most beautiful flats I've ever had the pleasure of working on, and they were able to achieve incredible synergy between the different elements of design from furniture to plants to artworks. Tara and the team were extremely professional and responsive. We were always able to resolve any issues in a timely fashion and to everyone's satisfaction.

Another fantastic project coming to an end with a massive support from Originate architect. We worked together well as a team with a great input of Originate to find design solutions on site that were cost effective but didn’t compromise quality. We found them responsive to the client’s needs, that results in quick response times and very focused on client satisfaction. They also showed a deep understanding of planning and heritage issues that helped get council approvals and Building Control satisfied with proposed solutions.

Originate are a great design practice with good ideas and a fine eye for detail. They created a great design for the Ames House high end residential project where 8build were the selected contractor. We had a good working relationship on site , all the Originate team were helpful and pro-active .This was a huge benefit and resulted in a very high quality design and end product delivery for a discerning client . Originate also dressed the units in a very creative fashion which made them very attractive to the letting agents and potential buyers. After my first meeting with Originate, I knew that I wanted to work with Gordon. There was an ease with which he approached the relationship and project, being respectful of me as a client but asserting a process and opinion which I found so valuable. Originate are very creative as well as practical in their approach, carefully listening to clients. An important element of my project is to enjoy the journey as well as the result and I feel that Originate have delivered this and will continue to do so.
