It really depends on what you want to use the chair for? That will help narrow down your choices. If an upholstered one is a real possibility then may be choosing a textile or printed fabric you really love is the starting point. There are so many chairs to choose from but I have taken to buying old ones and having them refurbed and covered because they are better designed for comfort..height, depth, curved backs.. Problem is that there are so many fabulous textiles available I find it hard to choose. Good luck.

Hi colour happy and Minnie101, I really like both of your ideas. Leaning I think more towards the style of the Flynn chair. Though I think both would work....decisions,decisions!! As we are wanting to replace all of the chairs.....could we use the same style as the Flynn and just have 2 different colours for the host? Or would you use 2 different styles? Thank you! I am new to all of this....it's all very exciting but makes me nervous at the same time :-)

If I am lazing I want to put my feet up..so a high backed chair and footstool for me.. Nothing more uncomfortable than lying in a hammock trying to read a book having to hold your arm at an odd angle and position the book so the sun isn't in your eyes!!

Ok, so 52 inches is just about 133 cms which will give you ample room to seat two 'standard' width chairs between the legs of the table. Most dining chairs are around 50cms wide and this would give the following spacing table leg > 11cm > chair > 11cm > chair > table leg. When we are working out what size table someone may need, or how many chairs they would like to seat, we usually work on spacing of no less than 5cm around any chair - this is still comfortable elbow/leg room. So if you work on this basis, of going no less than 5cm, the chairs you will eventually find for your table should be no more than 59cm wide. So don't forget to always carry a tape measure when you are out and about! You never know when you are going to come across the chairs you want. I hope this helps
