It’s the second time I’ve hired the services of RVI design. This project was larger and more complex in scope and I knew Matthew would deliver. His expertise with sustainable materials was key to our project. Responsive, timely, clear expert advice. I hope to with him again in the future. The contractors also enjoyed working with him.

I would very highly recommend Matthew to anyone looking to improve their home. Unlike the other architects that we talked to who take a cookie-cutter approach to working with their clients, Matthew took a great deal of time to truly understand what we were looking for when we approached him about doing a kitchen extension at our London home. He visited us at our house and through his thought-provoking questions, not only gathered the information needed to create his drawings, but also made us question a lot of our assumptions. The plans that he shared with us were full of imagination and practical consideration. We were also very impressed with his in-depth knowledge and passion for energy efficiency, natural materials, insulation and his holistic approach to home design. We would not hesitate to work with Matthew again - and encourage anyone to do the same if he is available.

I have recently worked with Matthew who has designed and gained planning approval for a two-storey side and wraparound ground floor extension for my home. This was a big decision for me and I was very nervous, so I carried out some substantive research before selecting an architect. Having previously worked with architects I found Matthew to be a breath of fresh air, not only was he talented, affable, and emphatic to my needs. He is a great architect who is not only very passionate about his craft but also very knowledgeable about future proofing the home in relation to current and emerging heating and hot water technologies. The Place Between

Matt helped me understand and organise natural material insulation for my extension, which had been specified with celotex. He was brilliant at working with what was already done and make the most out of it. A great communicator and I appreciated him making the time to review this time sensitive matter. I will certainly use the services again. This time it was for my home, next time most likely for other sustainable home renovations I support with my business.

Semi-undergreound outbuilding in Twickenham

I hired Matthew to manage all the aspects of an ambitious outbuilding design and planning. Matthew took over from another provider that had made a mess and sorted out everything in the most efficient (cost & time) way. The architectural solutions he proposed and the time he took to actually listen to what I wanted to achieve sets him apart from the other architects I have interviewed). The solution he design was approved in first instance by the council and it maximises both the surface to be built and minimises the landscape impact in my backyard. Matthew will be undoubtedly a fantastic hire for anyone who wants a job well done, a budget kept and a timeline that doesn't keep stretching. I will be deligthed to work again with Matthew when the occasion comes around.

Accesible bathroom conversión

Matt was bought on board to design and oversee the installation of an accessible bathroom. We chose Matt because he had experiences in both problem shooting practical design issues and working with old period dwellings. Matt connected an old log shed to the main body of the house and converted it into a beautiful accessible bathroom, while retaining some of the outdoor space still for storage. His attention to detail was exemplary, sustainability at the core of his designs, with a focus on efficient insulation and warmth. He also took great care to design a room which honoured the style of the rest of the house, the result of which is seamless. Matt sourced all the high quality fixtures and fittings, bought on board a build team, and oversaw the project in its entirety to ensure it did justice to the very precise architectural plans and drawings. Matt was a pleasure to work with.
