Elaine and Gary are super friendly, approachable and engaging, and were full of enthusiasm for our project from the onset. They took our thoughts and brief on board completely and created a functional plan bespoke to our lifestyle with a number of options to help us personalise the space to us - we can’t wait to make it a reality! I first met Gary and Elaine 15 years ago when they designed and project managed the overhaul of a modern townhouse to create a very special and unique space. They were very attentive to my requirements but never afraid to challenge my own preconceptions. The use of space was excellent to fulfil all practical requirements but to leave rooms feeling spacious and uncluttered. The rooms were also great aesthetically, with an amazing use of colour and texture throughout. It was sad to leave the property, but the sales price was substantially above any that had been achieved on any similar properties in the street before – a testament to the value that Walk’s designs add. I am now in a 1930s property which has required a different approach, but Elaine and Gary have produced more excellent design ideas which are completely sympathetic to the period of the house. It is often the smaller details which transform the space and create light and balance – such as the opening-up of a doorway or the use of bold splashes of colour and texture. A big thank you to Walk interior design, I was struggling to plan a new kitchen/dinner/lounge space effectively so decided to call in some experts to help make the most of the space. From the beginning Gary and Elaine were fantastic, both listened intently to our requirements and weren't afraid to challenge and come up with better solutions or alternative ideas. The design that was presented to us surpassed my expectations, not only meeting all requirements it also cleverly included all the design elements that make the room work aesthetically as well as functionally. Some very clever thinking around how we will use the space on a day-to-day basis as well as through the seasons means this space will work without compromise, something I wasn't sure I could achieve. I can't wait for this design to become reality later this year.

I met Gary and Elaine after looking specifically for Interior Architectural services as I needed help in reconfiguring and making the most of the downstairs of the house on a tight budget. They were fabulous in how they really listened to what I needed and the way I would like to live and use the space. I was completely blown away by the designs they presented back to me. They had taken everything into consideration and in such a way to maximise the existing space to reduce costs. I would not change anything at all about the designs and can’t wait to see the end result. We have been thinking about making changes to the layout of our house for 5 years, kicking around ideas from friends and family but never really ever getting anywhere with it. A neighbour showed us the plans for their house reconfiguration that Gary and Elaine had produced for them. We were really impressed with the detail and presentation of them, so we decided to bite the bullet and get them in to look at our house. We are super happy with taking that step as we now have comprehensive, well thought out plans for our house that reflect our lifestyle and personality and that are in keeping with the character of our house. The best bit is that Gary and Elaine really do care about your needs, the needs of the property, and how to best combine both of those. Their knowledge and attention to detail have given us a solution with ideas we just would not have thought up. Gary and Eliane have just completed a re-architecting of our interior kitchen/utility/day-room space and all I can say is......Wow!!! My wife and I had been through a number of options for how the space might work better, but Walk's design completely took us by surprise and re-imagined the footprint of our ground floor in a way that we would never have conceived and which resulted in a far better solution to our family's needs. And on top of that, they went above and beyond the brief, factoring in how the kitchen/utility/day room area and the surrounding rooms would work as a whole, and provided design ideas that for these other rooms which will transform the whole of the downstairs. Having ummed and ahhed over whether it was worth paying for some specialist design help, I can only say that it absolutely was and would highly recommend to Walk. We have a small house so working out the best use of the space is key, we decided to evaluate the possibility of an extension and had another company help us with the initial design and planning permission, but I couldn't shake the feeling that the space was not being used well. So I am very grateful that I cam across WALKID because their support in the early stage of our planning was key. Gary and Elaine visited and measured our home (pre-Covid) but most importantly really understood us and what we needed to have in our new space. Thanks to their assessment some key issues were highlighted that would have added a headache to the construction (like moving the fuse box). The designs they provided were very detailed and beautiful and perfectly captured what we want in our new space. Without a doubt would use their great services again

We tasked Gary & Elaine to reimagine the internal layout, function and design of our entire ground floor living, kitchen, dining & utility area ahead of bringing in building contractors later in 2021. Evident from the get go was their keen balance of creativity, cost and practicality; they absorbed all our hopes and ideas for the space resulting in a design that completely blew us away. Going into a building project there is often a reluctance to spend money on the creative process & how you go about landing on the best design; our experience of previous projects felt we had a pretty good eye. In Gary & Elaine however they took the baseline of our expectations and smashed it with the most beautifully executed drawings, mood boards and design notes that collectively really brought the designs for the house to life, way beyond our wildest imaginings. We worked with Gary and Elaine at the start of a major re-work of a Georgian farmhouse where the family had lived for 3 generations. They brought so many great ideas that challenged us to think differently about the space. We listened and then adopted them. And of course they were so right. Lockdown with 7 adults tested the space for 15weeks and the new spaces lived up to everything we had hoped for when we had thrust a disjointed set of ideas to Gary and Elaine. Thank you so much.

It was really great working with Gary and Elaine, they really understood our brief and have enabled us to re-imagine our rooms in a way we would not have thought of. They had great ideas and it has really shown us that just rethinking how you use space can bring great dividends and that extensions are not always necessary. This was the second time I have worked with Gary and Elaine and the second time was as good as the first. They really do listen to you when they take the project brief which means that the plans they produce meet your needs but they also are creative solutions which means you are getting the best of your property and investment.
