We used Wighton Architects on our retrospective garden development. From being a stressful time being told the development was an outside permitted development. The Wighton team came in used their expertise and professionalism took away all our stress and dealt with everything on the regulation side of our development getting us through the whole planning process I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We had a very positive experience working with Stuart as our architect. From the outset, he was always happy to answer any queries and made the whole process feel straightforward and manageable. Our project involved demolishing an existing extension and adding a new two-storey modern extension to our Victorian home, which came with its own challenges—particularly being in a conservation area. Stuart’s insight and experience with planners were invaluable, and he helped us navigate the process smoothly. He also provided great advice when it came to choosing the right contractors, which gave us real confidence moving forward. Communication was excellent throughout, and even once the build had started, Stuart remained on hand whenever we needed guidance or support. The project is still ongoing, but we’ve been very impressed with Stuart’s support and professionalism so far and would happily recommend him.

Stuart and his team were professional throughout, developing a design that met our needs and coordinating planning permission and structural engineer input. We were extremely happy with the work and support from Stuart and the team, we were impressed with the speed and efficiency with which our project progressed, during the design and planning consent, liaison with external bodies was excellent and responses to any queries we had we always promptly addressed. After shortlisting a couple of architects, we met with Stuart and he just understood what we were trying to achieve and his price was competitive. After agreeing upon a design brief, he made three proposals and we chose which parts of which design we liked and combined them. We had to navigate the more difficult planning route required of a grade 2 listed house, and we also live in a tree conservation area. Stuart put together a strong planning statement, showing that each part of the design had been considered from a planning and heritage stand point. We only needed some minor tweaks and planning permission was granted. Stuart was very professional throughout. He was easy to contact by phone and email. More importantly he seemed to have a genuine interest in our project. We couldn't be happier with the design and the finished product. Our house now flows so much better than before and we have a wonderful new space for the family to use for years to come.

I couldn't recommend Wighton Architects enough. We have a regular semi detached house that just isnt working for us, the space is too small and needs a re-jig of the floorplan along with an extension. We have a really awkward shaped plot so needed someone who would have creative solutions to make it work. Every question I had was answered quickly, never condescendingly, and with attention to detail. Stuart was incredibly patient as we changed our minds and then changed it back, requested tiny changes and insisted on a bay window. He was supportive and showed care whilst we navigated through the planning stage- this isnt something we've done before (or will likely ever do again), so it was really appreciated that we felt as though everything was taken care of. We begin building in Feb time and I cant wait to see the plans become a reality- going from a regular semi-detached house to something quite special will be amazing. These guys may not be the cheapest, but they by far exceeded everyone else we spoke to as well as our expectations. I cant recommend them highly enough- thanks all.
