“Whilst away from home we made a spur of the moment decision to consider knocking down the kitchen of our listed cottage and rebuilding a larger kitchen which would link into an existing barn. A telephone call to Woodford Architects, whose work I had seen in various magazines, resulted in Gavin making a preliminary visit the same day. He was enthusiastic about our ideas and reassured us that what we envisaged would be possible and likely to gain listed building consent. Daniel Osborne worked with us to come up with a design that met our needs whilst also being likely to secure all the necessary permissions. He incorporated our ideas and made suggestions as to how these might be improved to give a coherence to the overall design. His tact and diplomacy with the Conservation Officer was outstanding. Six months of building works have passed, and we now have a new kitchen that has surpassed our expectations.
