Catriona helped us refurbish all of our (3) bathrooms and put in a downstairs utility room plus updating a downstairs loo. This was a 3 month+ project and she helped us with the design aspects and project managed the whole process for us. She took our (in some cases a bit vague) brief and ideas and came up with some great designs for each of the bathrooms. In the case of our Master en-suite she made the most of a bit of a tight space that has transformed it into a room that feels much bigger and has one of my favourite features of the project - a full length shower tray - something we would never have thought of. She made some great suggestions for the colour schemes and found us some wood effect tiles that we absolutely love. My husband is over the moon that he now has an ultra high shower head he can properly stand under which was a request for the design but one we weren't sure was feasible - Catriona's design work made it so! The biggest challenge from a design and layout perspective was our downstairs utility area and loo - this had been something of a dumping ground by the back door plus a very tired downstairs loo - and is an extremely awkward shape, no right angles or straight walls here. Catriona came up with a great design that has left us with a laundry area with lots of shelving for storage plus a perfectly formed downstairs loo incorporating a utility sink and more storage all in a lovely colour - I almost enjoy doing the washing now! Catriona's project management was key to limiting the impact of the inevitable disruption on us. Following agreeing the design she drew up detailed project plans and works lists before arranging for 3 contractors to quote. This made the whole process of finding a contractor and getting going very easy for us. Her project planning was excellent getting the contractors to move from room to room in an agreed sequence. She also carefully managed the delivery of fittings and materials to our house making sure everything was available when needed by the contractors but ensuring we didn't feel like we lived in a builders merchants. She was regularly on site to manage the process and deal with contractor queries or design issues and kept us up to date with progress and giving us notice when decisions needed to be made. We were able to escape for a week's holiday and a few weekends away and were very happy leaving Catriona managing progress and the on site work. Towards the end of the project, the main contractor became a little uncommunicative and perhaps had his mind on the next job but Catriona was on top of it all, chasing and making sure we got over the line which which was much appreciated! The project management aspect was key for us as due to a small child and work commitments we would never have managed to get started with the project let alone managed and completed it without Catriona's help. We love our new bathrooms and utility area and would highly recommend Catriona!

Over several meetings and visits to showrooms she helped me choose fittings to achieve the look I was after. Throughout she listened carefully to my wishes but also gave good advice without being dogmatic! The workmen she employed were pleasant and thorough, with the same attention to detail that characterises Catriona’s approach to her work. She helpfully provided regularly updated schedules of costs and her monthly billing was clear. I would recommend Catriona highly not only because she has a great deal of experience but also because of her energy and positive attitude.

When we were building a new house there were so many decisions to make that we realised we needed some help. Never having used an interior designer, we weren’t sure if it was for us. We can honestly say it transformed the house. Catriona arrived with her friendly and reassuring personality and immediately set to work. Her skills in lighting design, room layout, colour and furniture choices have resulted in a home that looks wonderful. She incorporated some of our existing furniture and pictures and has really helped us achieve a home that reflects our personality and lifestyle. It has also been great fun to work with Catriona and we highly recommend her.

Catriona is a highly talented interior designer who has an ability to quickly grasp the desired end result. As a busy professional myself I was delighted to be able to completely hand over my projects and know that the work would be carried out to the highest standard possible. She redesigned my master bedroom and en-suite bathroom and advised on colour schemes for many other rooms in my home. I now have a delightfully mellow bedroom to wake up in with a relaxing and well designed en-suite shower room. Catriona has completely transformed this part of my house totally understanding my tastes and I look foreword to engaging her for many other projects when budget allows. Catriona is a delightful lady to work with she radiates positivity and her organization skills and budgeting are exemplary .

Catriona took time to discuss all elements of the job. She has helped us create a 'proper' hall (rather than a scruffy dumping ground), revamp the downstairs toilet, restyle the master and spare bedrooms and create a designer bathroom for my two teenage boys. She ensured that she really gets to know what we were looking for and then provided us with lots of appropriate ideas to choose from She provides a complete service and is always available to deal with workmen managing them politely and efficiently. All the workmen that worked on my project worked to a very high standard. Catriona took time to make sure that all the finishing touches were perfect, ordering and co-coordinating the delivery and installation of everything, including hanging pictures and mirrors. We were sent monthly reviews of the costs and all costs were discussed and explained in full.We have been really pleased with all the rooms that Catriona has worked on and will definitely be using her again in the future when we have saved up for our next projects!

We asked Catriona to help us with transforming our rather drab and boring guest bedroom into something more reflective of a sumptious boutique hotel. bedroom. We both wanted the same outcome but had very different ideas about how to go about it and what it should look like. Enter Catriona - as well as being a professional, creative designer she also comes with serious mediation expertise too!! She magically managed to give us both the outcome we wanted, guiding us in our decisions and consulting us all the way. She project managed the whole transformation and gave us exactly what we wanted keeping us appraised of budget all the way. The bedroom is so gorgeous and has the 'Wow' factor we were looking for - we want to move into it ourselves. We happily recommend Tulipa and Catriona to anyone considering using an interior designer - a first for us but not for the last time I suspect.

I engaged Tulipa to help with a variety of updates and changes, and from the minute Catriona set foot in the house I knew I was in safe and capable hands. She has a real talent to blend a modern and contemporary feel with the existing character of the house (and of us in it!). Catriona gave me design suggestions for a completely re-furbished bathroom, and was always quick and willing to show different options. In addition to effectively negotiating and ordering all equipment, she also co-ordinated her wide network of tradespeople so I didn't have to worry at all. As well as the larger projects she also has a great eye to help "freshen up" a room by making small changes - a new cushion placed differently, de-cluttering of "stuff", re-arranging of pictures, suggestions for new curtains, looking at paint swatches to create the right feel, and installing great lighting. Which means that as well as designing a beautiful bathroom - now an oasis of calm and great taste, Catriona has added little touches throughout the house, all of which have made a big difference. I would thoroughly recommend that you use Tulipa, and that you open your door to let Catriona's infectious warmth and enthusiasm into your home.

This is the first time we have used a design consultant and Tulipa provided us a turn key service, furnishing and preparing our new house for letting. Catriona has great taste, and finds solutions and the 'look' at prices that will not break the bank. We asked Catriona to help us with the revamp of our kitchen to include flooring/re-paint of room and units, new surfaces and further styling post painting. Always flexible to fit in with our timings - punctual and organised - Catriona was always careful not to impose her view but to listen to our concerns and hopes and work with these to make suggestions to then implement. Practical and purposeful it was a real help having her as an advisor/sounding board and to take the angst out of the decision making. Could not recommend her more highly for the job she did for us!
