“As a very busy, single, professional with absolutely no talent for decorating or design, the project of designing my new home was to me very formidable task. “AE Design has given my family our dream house and home. Every day I wake up so happy to be living in such a beautiful space, even a year later there's nothing I'd change. I first found Amy on Instagram after I'd seen a beautiful kitchen she'd designed with Schoolhouse pulls that I was in love with. I knew I'd be happy in many of the spaces that I saw in her portfolio. Lucky for us, she was able to fit our new house into her schedule. I did have a hesitation, I was concerned that we as clients were more than a bit "tone deaf" when it came to style - how would I know when we needed to be pushed even if we didn't like it, or when we needed to say no and hope for another option? What I soon learned was that Amy is a genius when it comes to interpreting her clients' true style even when they don't know it themselves. AE Design handled our remodeling and interior design. They worked seamlessly with our contractor. The designs were impeccable and they're such pros that they knew exactly when to show up to make sure that the work was being done as planned. Our contractor was fabulous, but even so, I was amazed at how many things they caught that would have been costly to fix or would have been annoying to live with - raising the shower and stove hood to accommodate my husband's height, changing the color of the wood of the built-ins to coordinate with floors, making sure the tub was in a better location, making sure the tiles had the right pattern, moving the lights over the island, and the list goes on. Once the house was ready I knew I wanted the same touch when it came to furniture - Amy was really able to understand what I wanted even when I didn't. She was very patient if something just didn't seem to work for us and would try to come up with another design that better suited our taste. We also had the constraints of needing furnishing that worked for two small kids, which she handled flawlessly. We love our space - it's comfortable, beautiful and functional and best of all it feels like us...if we had style. Thank you AE DESIGN!”
