We initially contacted Francesco about the replacement of our kitchen and back extension. We were very keen to install an air source heat pump, heat recovery ventilation and insulation to transform the energy efficiency of our Victorian House. This ultimately led to a full refurbishment and retro fit of our home. Our house now only uses approximately a third of the energy that it did prior to the works. Francesco took on board all of our requirements but brought creativity and expertise. He considered every detail and helped rethink the use of spaces. Our stunning back room now has grandeur but still feels like a very comfortable living space. He has maximised the view of the garden and the outdoor space. He gently encouraged us to be bold in our choice of colours and surfaces and added warmth to our north facing house. It was very easy to communicate with Francesco, he always replied quickly to queries and kept us well informed at every stage of the build. Francesco also introduced us to Nathan Dew Ltd builders. The builders were excellent accommodating us and our cats as we lived on site during the build. Work was completed within budget. We would highly recommend Francesco and are delighted with the finished result.

What started out as a partial refurbishment of our house and improved access to our loft, turned into a full house renovation with a hip to gable loft conversion. Francesco displayed great imagination, creativity and aesthetic sensibility in the solutions he proposed to meet our requirements. Francesco demonstrated a great talent for listening to our plans and aspirations, and building on them in an open-ended dialogue with us. Usually we agreed with his proposed design and aesthetic ideas. Occasionally, Francesco pushed for particular ideas despite our initial doubts. In the event, we are glad he persisted and that we went for his suggestions. We are especially pleased with the airiness of the loft and the great views it affords on three sides of the house. The loft now lends itself to many more uses than we had originally envisaged. We also love the design and aesthetics of our new kitchen, bathroom and wet room; all of which are more useful and attractive than we had anticipated. Francesco has shown a talent for maximising the utility of the tight space in these rooms. Francesco planned for the work to happen in two stages, whereby we lived in the lower part of the house while the loft was being converted, and then moved upstairs for stage two. Although this was quite challenging, we have ended up with a house that has vastly improved the quality of our lives.

When we made the decision to renovate our Victorian terrace, add a side return and remodel our bathroom, Francesco transformed our vision into a reality beyond our expectations. From the initial consultation to the final walk-through, his attention to detail, and dedication to excellence, was evident in every aspect of the project. Working with Francesco Pierazzi Architects was an excellent experience For our ground floor remodelling and extension, we wanted to work with an expert who could bring our ideas to life and advise on how best to achieve them, challenge us where there were better ways of doing things and push us to consider a wider range of possibilities. We researched on Which Trusted Traders to find a well-recommended architect, and selected Francesco Pierazzi. Working with Francesco was an excellent experience. We discussed the project, talking through in detail the different aspects of what we were looking for and hoping to achieve. Some of our thinking was well developed, some elements were sketchy, and others were little more than a concept, idea or feeling. Francesco played that back to us, capturing our thinking well, as the basis for our engagement. He followed up with a set of images as design inspiration that he thought might work for our project. Those inspirations were well aligned with our brief, though some seemed very grand for our 1905 London mid-terrace. But funnily enough you can still see those influences reflected in the finished product, in a way that works in our space, and our lives, and nails the kind of look, feel and functionally that we were hoping for. From that initial inspiration he developed, and consulted with us on, the designs, materials, fixtures and fittings, occasionally recommending another specialist (e.g. for the kitchen fittings) and even advised on furniture when asked. He did exactly what we wanted and needed to get the best from the time and effort we put into the project, encouraging us to consider things beyond our initial instincts / responses, but quickly happy to get behind our preference if we said one or more suggestions didn’t suit us. Francesco also managed our project for us, acting as the principal interface with our building team. Again, he did a great job of this, pushing the team for attention to detail close to perfection, while judging when it was necessary to be pragmatic and compromise. We couldn’t recommend him enough!

We engaged Francesco to design, specify and supervise a new back addition kitchen. He listened carefully to our needs and came up with several creative alternatives for us to consider. After consultation, he amended the proposals that he specified and tendered, to a satisfactory outcome. He supervised the contractor and was always available to deal with problems that arose during the work. He was considered in his recommendations for amendments that arose along the way and brought the project to a successful conclusion. Francesco was always professional, available for help and consultation, replied promptly to queries and was patient and personable at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Francesco was an inspiration. He really helped envisage and bring to life my ideas for my new home in the Derbyshire Dales – and, of course, take them to a whole new level. The project involved remodelling of the whole ground floor of the cottage, to make best use of the space and to allow the beautiful surrounding countryside in – with the main focus being a single story extension to the rear. This extension was careful to both celebrate and embrace the natural local materials and architectural style, while balancing it with modernity and an openness which both brought views of the Dales inside, as well as much needed addition of natural light into the property. Francesco also indulged me in my passion for gardening, and designed a potting shed as part of the extension, quirky and vernacular in style to wonderfully contrast with the modernity of the main design. I would highly recommend Francesco to anyone looking for an architect. He is extremely talented, has an impeccable eye and imagination and is a pleasure to work with.

Francesco really helped us envisage how we could transform a dingy 1950s kitchen and the unused garden side return next to it into a bright and airy space for cooking and entertaining. Francesco didn't just focus on the kitchen but rather the way the area interacts and intersects with the rest of the house, what the feeling will be walking into it from the living room as well as walking out of it into the garden. Moreover, Francesco was friendly, professional and easily reachable - right from initial conversation on the concept through to the final drafts and the stages of contracting a builder. We'd 100% recommend his services and creative vision.

Francesco designed and project managed a loft conversion and ground floor refurbishment for us in our house in Brixton. Francesco excelled in all areas, from helping us with the concept of our renovations to guiding us through implementation. He was very patient (we took a long time from initial contact to getting going!) and was there to offer advice on any and all aspects of the practical and the aesthetic. As a working couple with two young kids and minimal time to think about anything properly we relied on him a lot and he delivered to an extremely high level. We are absolutely delighted with the outcome, and would attach pictures if we were able to keep any of the rooms tidy for more than five minutes!

Francesco was brilliant. Our project involved remodelling the back of our house and updating the kitchen and bathroom accordingly. He understood exactly what we were aiming for, and came up with plans which were even better than we hoped. We took his advice on builders, and he understood our budgetary constraints. He and the builders were great to deal with and he managed the whole project very smoothly. It finished a little later than anticipated, but that was because of the problem with supplies in the time of Covid, and both Francesco and the builders were on top of things and v responsive. We took his advice on colours and textures and are so happy with the result. Can't recommend highly enough his eye for what works. Plus, he is utterly lovely to deal with and v quick to respond to messages.

We had to renovate our kitchen and bathroom, and a friend highly recommended Francesco Pierazzi, and she was right! Francesco is extremely available and patient; during our numerous meetings he listened to what we wanted, developed a clear vision of the project and worked with us to find the best solution to our requests. During the project he was present and supportive. He has a profound understanding of materials and a strong sense of space and light. To achieve what we wanted, he came up with ideas which were creative, sensitive, practical and pleasant to the eye, yet never banal. Plus we finished within budget, which always helps! Everyone who has seen our new kitchen and bathroom is very complimentary – they can’t help but notice the quality of his work and attention to detail. During our meetings we had the opportunity to get to know Francesco beyond the architect: he is a warm, kind person and, between taking technical decisions, we enjoyed talking about exhibitions, books and food - who doesn’t like porcini mushrooms?
