Great to work together with Deborah, she has helped make my flat a wonderful place to live, would never have been able to do it without her. Unreservedly recommend.

DMJ design, Deborah and Martin, have just helped us to complete the refurbishment of our London mews house. This has involved design (including spatial plans, built in furniture details, kitchen plans, lighting and all finishes), securing reports and permissions, commissioning the builder and other craftsmen, project managment and much else besides. Throughout, they have been absolutely fantastic, a joy to work with and incredibly helpful in all ways from tiny details through to major decisions. We are overjoyed with the final results and very much hope to be able to work with them on furniture, soft furnishings and interior design including pictures. I would absolutely recommend them and would absolutely use them again.

We share with Deborah and Martin the sense of aesthetic and attention to details which are so essential in a successfull project. Their sensitivity to materials and architectural lines gives them great advantage when they have your project in their hands.

I engaged Deborah and her husband and design partner, Martin to rethink my flat, throughout. Everything had been allowed to get worn out and the place needed to be completely refurbished and basics such as flooring, carpeting, lighting, heating and plumbing needed to be totally replaced and modernised. We decided to get everything redone in two phases over a period of a year. Phase 1 included a new kitchen, w.c. and bathroom and took 7 weeks to complete from February to March, 2018. Phase 2 was executed in 5 weeks from February to March 2019. A budget was set and DMJ adhered to it strictly, in some cases saving considerable costs. This involved getting quotes from contractors. Phase 1 and 2 involved two different contractors based on their quotes. Both proved to be very good and efficient but Martin kept a beady eye on progress and build quality which involved regular site visits.
My property is a one bedroom flat and the need to create space was a major consideration, including making as much storage space as possible.
Martin took care of project managing, including drawing up precise plans, creating a precise computer-aided plan and appointing building contractors - a big job in itself. He did a huge amount of research into furniture, lighting and deciding where to position the radiators for maximum efficiency in heating the flat. Underfloor heating was installed, running along a short corridor, through from the kitchen to the bathroom and Martin also came up with a beautiful custom-designed tile pattern which again creates the illusion of more space and looks stylish and modern.
He even took me on a shopping trip to look at everything from window blinds, lighting and furniture which proved to be not only invaluable in helping me to decide what I wanted but was also exciting and a revelation as to what is available in modern design. DMJ constantly research innovative design in all its aspects because they love it themselves! At every stage, I was consulted about design decisions and nothing was imposed without my absolute approval.
Deborah came up with inspired colour schemes throughout including the radical decision to spray paint some wooden cabinets, the same colour as the walls. This proved to be an absolutely right decision and it creates the illusion of spaciousness and lit up the room.
The bathroom is very tiny and built under some stairs. We decided to dispense with the bath. A beautiful walk-in shower has been built and a wide sink installed with a modern tap system plus a huge amount of cupboard space. The lighting was crucial in this small space and again, the choice was inspired including two LED lozenge-shaped lights either side of a large mirror.
Deborah also found me some beautiful rugs including a beautiful bargain buy from one of her very high profile clients.
To sum up DMJ is an utterly professional design team with both technical knowledge, taste and many years of experience doing large institutional and smaller domestic projects. The husband and wife team complement each other perfectly.
I could not recommend them more highly.

Deborah planned and oversaw the complete renovation and refurbishment of our kitchen last year. With her meticulous drawings and eye for detail, her technical knowledge and an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of design fittings and furnishings, she completely surpassed our expectations. Our kitchen is brighter, looks far, far larger and has masses more space (without doing an extension). Deborah dealt with the builders in a collegiate and professional manner, overseeing all the “dull” technical aspects and ensuring that every detail, no matter how small, was perfectly executed. I had all the enjoyment of choosing colours, tiles, fittings etc, aptly advised by Deborah. Deborah also managed to be budget sensitive without compromising the original concept. She is a friendly and charming person to work with and I wouldn’t do another renovation, no matter how small, without her.

Deborah has been of invaluable help during the refurbishment of our 2 beds flat. She was readily available for any little question we had and gave us very good advice. She has a lot of experience, and is also very friendly. Would definitely work with her again and will continue recommending her to friends and colleagues.

Deborah advised us on the rebuild of our kitchen, bathroom and hallway. This included designs, colour suggestions, sourcing fixtures etc. together with ongoing liaising with the various contractors. Deborah was fantastic - she suggested creative ideas to utilise our limited space (we'd lived in our place for c.three years but were still pleasantly surprised by the final plans) and provided excellent ongoing help as the plans were put into practice. We're delighted with our (new) home.

I contacted and subsequently hired Deborah after deciding to refurbish my flat, this was my first major project, taking nearly 4 months, c.£80k and involved;
- Relocation and installation of a new bathroom and kitchen
- Full rewiring (including Data cabling)
- New boiler, complete re plumbing (incl. drainage) and laying of water underfloor heating to 50% of the flat
- New external doors and windows
- Full plastering and painting
- Fitted wardrobes to the bedroom, hall and study
Deborah was able to quickly convert my ideas into a realistic detailed design to enable the selection of a builder(which Deborah led the tender and contracting process) I had full confidence in Deborah theroughout and she provided great ideas for adjusting the layout, lighting, electrics and decoration) Deborah also kick the work off whilst I was out of the country.
Throughout the project Deborah was quick to respond, listen to my idea and provide new ideas when issues arose.
I would most defiantly recommend Deborah for any project, she is always professional and has a wealth of ideas to bring to any project to further enhance the outcome.
Without Deborah’s guidance and support I would still be working out how to get things moving.

We hired Deborah to extend our living room area (removing a bathroom) and build a new toilet. Overall cost was c. £10k (within 10% of initial estimate) and done within 4 weeks, as planned.
Overall, we were extremely pleased with the job.
Deborah is very reliable, responsive (never had to chase her on any request!), extremely helpful to chose material and decorating elements.
Deborah is very pragmatic and will make sure each element is used in a cost effective manner and meets your design and budget expectations.
She was on top of all aspects of the project, making sure deadlines were met and handling any unforeseen issues, providing a great feeling of trust and confidence.
Deborah also has very good contractors which are efficient, reliable and top quality.
I would highly recommend her and have already done so with friends.
