Caldicot Kitchen & Bathroom Centre

I recently ordered some kitchen door handles that I had been searching for everywhere, and this company went absolutely above and beyond to make it happen. I had my heart set on a very specific style (which I had in my previous house) and they took the time to source them specially for me. Their communication was brilliant throughout: friendly, prompt, and genuinely invested in helping me get exactly what I wanted. The handles arrived on next day delivery and are the perfect finishing touch to my kitchen! I’m incredibly grateful for their effort, patience, and outstanding service. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE USE THIS COMPANY We had a bathroom fitted by Caldicot Kitchen & Bathroom Centre in November 2021. The design process and furniture selection were relatively straightforward, however, in hindsight the overheard telephone conversations that Nicky had with customers whilst we were at the showroom, should have rung alarm bells. The build process was significantly protracted, with the contractors running into issues on power supply and drainage, which had apparently been incorrectly assessed during the initial survey and pricing. Overall, we were satisfied with the finished bathroom and completed the payment. During Christmas 2023 we noticed that the chrome on the radiator was peeling off and then the handle fell off the sink tap. Considering the high price we paid for the bathroom, the low quality of these fittings is genuinely concerning, however, as the parts are under warranty, we thought the replacement process would be straightforward. We sent an email to Caldicot Kitchen & Bathroom Centre in January 2024, asking for the items to be replaced. After several months of broken promises and failed appointments, with numerous “cast iron promises”, “100% guaranteed”, “180% guaranteed”, “we’ll be there, don’t worry” etc. etc. We eventually got to the 3rd of September 2023, and somebody turned up to fit our new radiator and tap. Hooray!!! They were both the wrong ones, and they left with a promise of being back later in the week with the correct replacements. Today (10th October 2024) after another month of phone calls and further broken promises they are going to drop the parts off. Basically, I have been left in a position where I must find a plumber to fit them. I will pass the bill onto Caldicot Kitchen & Bathroom Centre, which, if necessary, I will pursue payment through the small claims court. So, I may write an update to this review. Pursuing this matter has been incredibly time-consuming. Caldicot Kitchen & Bathroom Centre never, ever phone you, you always must phone them. Even if they are yet again not going to bother turning up for an agreed appointment, they will never ring you to offer one of their myriad of excuses, you have to repeatedly phone them until they are embarrassed into answering your call. On the dozen or more occasions when we arranged for them to come and undertake the work, there wasn’t a single time when we received a phone call to say they couldn’t make it. Not once. Every single time we had to phone them. It took fourteen phone calls today before anyone answered. I would under no circumstance recommend this company to anyone. If they are unable or unwilling to fulfill such a minor warranty claim, where would we stand if there were significant issues? They are by far the most unprofessional company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. This company literally cannot be trusted to fix a tap. John and Nicky provided us with the most professional service even for what was a relatively small order. Friendly, very supportive and well informed. We were dreading the inevitable traipse around the showrooms but struck luck first time out! Excellent value for money.

John and Nicky are very knowledgeable, took time to understand my requirements (rendering models in CAD made it really easy to visualise and tweak the designs) and work with tradespeople who share their sense of professionalism and attention to detail. Their small but well laid out showroom gave us some great inspiration for our projects. We're very happy with the progress to date.

Caldicot Kitchens offer an excellent service. From the outset it was clear that John has a good eye for design and that both he and Nicky have an excellent knowledge of the products on offer. Nicky is very passionate in delivering good service at a reasonable price. The products offered are of excellent quality and the workmanship of the guys employed is also excellent. Whenever any minor issues arose (which I think is inevitable on a kitchen re-design) during the installation Nicky was right there to help resolve matters. As stated above I think pricing was reasonable and staged payments appropriate and convenient. Overall I would recommend Caldicot Kitchens very highly.

I was totally impressed with the professional service offered by John and Nikki. The attention to detail was great, as well as the time taken to explain everything in detail.

My wife and I had a new kitchen & utility installed by Caldicot Kitchens and Bathroom Centre (CKBC)in January this year. After an initial visit by one of the owners (and designer), John (in late November 2017); we had a initial design a few weeks later. It should be noted that we found it extremely useful to give John our maximum budget from the outset. This enabled him to tailor a quality kitchen to our requirements without wasting time on designs and furniture beyond our price. We quickly agreed the designs and we were then invited to the Showroom in Rogiet to choose the range, colour, Oven etc and to agree the final price. This was done and we agreed a start date immediately following Christmas 2017. Again it should be noted the whole process was extremely straight forward and John was very helpful in making the process of choosing our new kitchen, and design, very easy and stress free. Our project started in the first week of January 2018. The CKBC Team turned up and ripped our old kitchen out in very quick time. Our role was simply to have the kitchen emptied prior to their arrival. The team were extremely polite, they were respectful to our property and they ensured the kitchen area always remained in a tidy state at the end of the day. (Nothing was too much trouble). Following the kitchen removal the fitter (Neil) took over and during the next few weeks he proceeded to fit our new kitchen. Neil is an unbelievable tradesman, his attention to detail, the quality of his workmanship and his overall helpful pleasant demeanour is a credit to the Company. During the fitting, the plumber sorted the new sinks, the gas fitter the oven and hob, we were part decorated and then the electrician fitted our new sockets and light fittings. Again all provided a very high standard of workmanship and It was efficiently managed by the owners, at CKBC, who were proactively making regular site visits. We now have our new kitchen which has taken just over four weeks from start to finish. It is one of those home projects that is very upsetting to your daily routine but my wife and I were delighted how accommodating and understanding this company managed and installed our new kitchen. The quality of our finished fully fitted kitchen is simply outstanding. Johns team of trades men were a credit to the business; punctual, polite, efficient, just simply great! This is the second time we have invited CKBC to refurbish parts of our home and they have never let us down, providing complete satisfaction and wonderful quality. We obviously highly recommend their work. First Class!
