I find people are less and less bothered about having a bath and they all love walk in wet room type showers so much that they forget that there ins't a bath anyway :-)

So if you make a really good job of it then it will be an asset that increases the value of your home.

Is the house big and would it be intended for a family when you come to sell? If yes and the potential buyers have children or intend to do so, then yes they will want to have a bath. If not and it is intended for a young couple, a shower is perfect and I like the idea suggested about choosing a shower that is 1800mm long...

Thanks Ensign, love the bidet. I note what you say about lifestyle but think Arnaki has a very relevant point re children and baths. Very young ones don't like showers. I wonder if there is a high sided shower tray that could double as a shallow bath, say 225 mm high or will I have to build one in situ?

Barry - you cannot live your life around if and when you sell, and if and whether some unknown person will want a bath or not. They can always instal one themselves if they are that desperate at some time in the future. They may not like a high sided shower - the whole purpose of a shower is quick in and quick out, no stepping over cumbersome sides.

We recently had to address this very same issue for a client with a small bathroom that served as the family bathroom, but they specifically wanted a bath and a shower. We simply affixed the shower unit to the only available wall, and built a wetroom floor. The bath is still there, to the left of the picture, and the shower does get the toilet very wet, but it doesn't really matter. Is there room in front of your bidet and toilet for someone to stand and have a shower?
