I've had a look at activewindowfilms.co.uk sounds like there may be a small amount of light reduction, at the price it's worth a trial though. Yes, people stare straight in here! It's a bit uncomfortable when you feel like you have eye contact with a stranger when you're eating your dinner! :-) I guess it's human nature though... I'm not sure I can handle bolder with the splashback, mostly because I'm keen to keep it as neutral as possible, so that other items can be changed as fashion changes or if I sell up at some point. I had considered a mirror splash back.. I wasn't going to tile, just glass upstands below the sockets. 14:27 For privacy I think the first option would work if it really is invisible as it appears. The watery colour of the splashback works with the blinds and art. I wonder whether to go a bit bolder though? Are you tiling at all? Where did you get find the invisble film? I may try that as a temporary solution until we can afford shutters or curtains. People literally stop and gawp at our dining room!

Hello Sarah, I would always recommend using a sample board. Often elements, paint colours and fabrics can look lovely in isolation but it's only when you see them together that you can decide if they work. If it works on the board it will work in the room. I'm guessing from your description that your new kitchen will be contemporary and you're wanting a tile or flooring material, for example Karndean, that will zone but not sever the dining area? One idea we've used in the past is to use two similar tiles. If you have dogs, you might find a wood effect tile or something like a mid or dark grey 600mm x 300m would work - matt (and non slip) but not riven. We've used Walls and Floors and Tons of Tiles quite a bit in the past. Regards Amanda

Just looking quickly, here’s what I think: Definitely a no for the microwave position. It’s too high and a hazard for lifting out hot bowls with such things as soup. Why aren’t you having the oven in a tall unit the same as you currently have? Have a single oven and an integrated microwave over it. Is the corner unit a 900 x 900L? If those are straight corner bases you‘ll need to drop on your knees to access the corner which is a nightmare whereas a 900L gives you the opportunity to open each door individually or together allowing full access to the corner. A 3 drawer pack is better than a 4 IMO as you get 2 deep pan drawers which are better for saucepans (but I’d place the oven there). Also a 800 mm drawer pack is a fabulous size with superb storage if you can swap something around to accommodate this size. Over the other side I would have 2 tall units. One for the integrated fridge/freezer and then a larder unit alongside it doing away with the base unit. Looking at the image you have space to put them on the same wall as the door.

Ok. Where do you enter? And where is the bathroom? Bedroom is upstairs? Fireplace will be used as such? Is the space next to the sitting room a hallway? Where could the soil pipe go?
