Lovely bedroom, but don´t know what to do with it. Please help.
Comments (23)HI MARINA, I love your bedroom- great high ceilings. Your furniture is also nice. I would follow the lead from the furniture keeping all furniture white. I love tropical coastal style. I would put up a white ceiling fan and ikea sell some white nets that let in loads of light and give privacy. I would decorate the walls in an off white with a hint of pink in it for warmth and to bring out the tones in your beautiful floor. I would collect local art for the walls. I would go to town on the bedding and cushions for the bed. I would mix your favourite colours- turquoise, teal, with green and coral. Making the room have a tropical coastal beach hotel vibe. I would feel like I was on holiday every day and never want to leave. Once you've surrounded yourself with personal things like photo frames of loved ones, plants/ flowers etc, you will feel right at home and settled. I've loved decorating for years, and tried lots of colours on walls but recently I've returned to off whites as they are so flexible and you can change the look with coloured accessories regular. "2 good books to read are Greg Natale - 'A tailored interior'- He's great, and tells you trade secrets to give your home the wow factor an be your own interior designer. Also anything by Barclay Butera - he's the best for coastal/beach styles. Wishing you lots of fun....See MoreLiving room decor
Comments (10)Hi Chelle. I like the little revamped set of drawers, matches your other furniture well. Yes, I would also paint the chest of drawers in the same colour grey and I’d also paint the picture rail in grey as well. Just think the pine is making it look a little dated. I see in your idea book you like teal colours. I think this will look great on the chimney breasts as the current wallpaper does look a bit too busy. How about a wallpaper or wall mural behind the sofa as well. Was thinking of a watercolor effect (one in pics is from Mr Perswall). What I do love is the bold colour pops you have. The teal cushions, yellow and red/pink lampshades, even the orange piping on the dog cushion. Having a few more accessories in these colours will look fab against a rich blue and grey scheme. Also have a look at Bluebell gray soft furnishings and on a more subtle note but with more animals Voyage Maison fabrics. Ah, to be rich indeed:) Even if I was I’d still be finding furniture to revamp and art projects on the cheap. Here’s some ideas:...See MoreBedroom decorating scheme advice
Comments (73)I think the lighter fern fabric for the curtains would look very nice. And then linen, hessian, grey with pink warm undertone for the walls and ceiling, that the curtains almost blend in, and dark tone black shade for the window frame and the door. You can paint the nightstands black (if I can convince you to add a crystal knob. Alix’s pax handle looks really nice on black) and black low bookshelf in the corner where you have your shelves now, but window height and tour prints above it . Are you keeping that desk in your bedroom or is it for your daughter’s room? You are keeping it, put it under the window with your table mirror on it. Hessian fabric on the wardrobe door and paint the ridges black also. I would go with hessian fabric outside of the glass, it not entirely sure how difficult it is to do, tbh. if You put the fabric inside the glass you’d need to use a transparent glue. You are very good with diy, should be able to do it. If the fabric goes outside of the glass it will have a very different effect from the one if it goes under the glass....See MoreDining room decor help
Comments (23)You might not need to paint yet if you’re feeling stuck, I’d say get some big artwork with some pops of colours like blue/orange and neutrals and stick them on the wall behind the big chairs. Make sure they’re statement size For the table I’d go for something oak or wood just to bring some warmth to the room - also have you considered a round table? That might help soften the shapes there. Then get a big rug underneath too! Kukoon and Dunelm have some really affordable ones. Personally I’d find somewhere else to put the chairs, maybe one in the corner of your room or anywhere else. They crowd the room and look out of place, instead I’d pop a sideboard and put some nice little vases/ books on top for added layers Finally I’d change the light to something more low hanging and maybe wood/brown/earthy tones just to add some wow...See Morelvpugs
