I assume you're not keen on adding a bathroom? Jonathan made a good point re fire escape. Unless you want to use the study as a bedroom, I would think about blocking off the attic access in room 3, but leaving a door through the wardrobe in case ever needed, to create floor to ceiling wardrobes similar to the pic from home design (use of space not style) I'd create 2 rooms from 3 (obviously in the middle of the Velux) for the bedroom and playroom. Build a cabin bed as ASV suggested underneath the 5th and 6th velux similar to pic from ongamagazine. Make the bed 4ft wide for when your son grows. I'd have a built in desk built across the back wall of the study with a shelf above to house a tv. you can use off the shelf pieces but I think bespoke units are key to maximise the space. Pic 3 from earndig just shows storage for a playroom.

I don't know what everyone likes stylewise or colours but I quite like the houses on the wall in the first pic on the wall where your sofa is. The kids could update the characters in the Windows using decals when they grow out of a phase. It's only paint so easy to paint over when they're teenagers. The rest of the walls i'd do in a scrubbable paint. Where the radiator is i'd add a table like pic 2 but with the shelves underneath the table in pic 3 for craft storage (maybe make it deep enough for a games console in the future). I'd also add cheap shelves above for art and pencil storage etc with bins etc. The desk could be raised when they grow but also used as a tv stand when they're older. The eames chairs are kids one, they're easy to keep clean and quite cheap at £25 (seat height is 32cm) for when they grow out of them. I'd add a rug in the middle and the beanbag by the bookcase. You could add a "once upon a time" or a "read" decal over the bookcase And maybe star bunting or Pom poms over the eaves to cosy up the reading area. l'd add clothes pegs on the cupboard door for their dress up stuff plus a couple of toy bags for lightweight bits. I'd keep the rest of the room free for play (although the existing drawers could be handy) and when they're older add a sofa for tv, PlayStation etc. What type of lights do you have ATM?

Hi Elena, Our recommendation would be to paint the whole room, including woodwork, in Pure Brilliant White. With one exception, the feature wall - the wall opposite the windows. The feature wall would reflect the light coming in from windows and its colour onto the rest of the room. This would alow for max. brightness while lights on. Worth mentioning is the fact any colour (even whites!) will look darker/different while in north facing room. Good luck! Paintforme

Hi Shagufta, What a lovely space! I would have one long desk where two people can sit on the wall opposite the window, then build a small kitchenette / bar area on the wall area to the right of the window, where the radiator currently sits.
