Log cabin colour dilemma

Hope someone can provide guidance on colour for our new log cabin.
The roof shingles when installed will be bluey grey (they were free!) as the photo shows it is still work in progress.

Comments (47)The thing to bear in mind is that you need a defra exempt stove if you are planning to burn wood in a smokeless zone, but there are loads available. I would let the installer deal with with the hearth along with the flue liner when it is installed. I have an open fire with a gas tray fitted and its great and also a stove which I love but as people say does throw out a lot of heat. Comments (17)Sometimes, especially with smaller rooms it's better to show more floor space. Don't over crowd the room. I would personally put a single bed under it going in the same direction with the foot under the lowest point of the eaves to give an even better illusion of space. You or the estate agent showing new buyers round can point out that a double bed easily fits still! Add a bedside table, storage such as a small wardrobe is best to show off instead of bed size. In fact, house builders quite often buy small furniture to put in the show houses that make the rooms look larger! I agree it's a small double, but it's a really big single! Comments (1)mahogany certainly can look good and it is back in style but it all depends on the rest of your room and what style you have, contemporary or traditional or a mix. You have copper metal accessories and the mahogany looks good with them. I would suggest you keep all your walls one colour, as the impact will be from your sofas, but I’d avoid putting a darker colour behind your sofa as it may result in this statement blending into the wall colour and not having the ‘wow’ piece you are wanting. I would recommend either Potters Clay 3, which is a pale, greyed off, taupe colour, or Chalk Blush 3 which is a pale, redder toned neutral. Both of these colours have a red undertone so will sit nicely against the purple colouring in your sofa.
