I’d compromise by ditching the bath - use that space for more clothes storage. The bath is not something that is that useful - and it prevents the use of electric sockets within a 3m radius of it - so person who sleeps the ‘bath’ side of the bed couldn’t charge their phone next to them at night. Also I’d add more storage on opposite side of room to where bath was too.

I have had a similar question recently as the property developer I was buying a house off of has recessed all of his mirrors, between 150 and 250 into the wall. I have just stayed at a hotel with a 590 deep vanity, and the mirror then on the rear of a 210mm shelf, giving a distance from the mirror of roughly 800mm. This was definitely too far and I needed to use the supplied shaving mirror to brush my teeth (I am short sighted). I am now going to delete all of the recessed mirrors to avoid this problem. I also cannot find many pictures of properly recessed mirrors on the Internet. I think this is because it is a bad idea.

An antique effect mirror here would work wonderfully, you don't need any fancy edges as the character comes from the height and antique effects.
