What do you like? Modern or Traditional? Wood or painted? What size room? what colours do you like? So many options - give us some wishes and I'm sure the Houzzers will come up with lots of interesting ideas!

Hi. I would probably declutter first. There is an awful lot of furniture in the room. I would get rid of the cabinet on the fireplace wall and move the tv on top of the chest of drawers. Remove the coffee tables and the pine chair and the items on top of the wardrobe. I'd remove the 3 pictures and replace with a very large piece of art, I don't know what you like but something vintage or contemporary ie travel, cinema, typography, street signs etc. Walls could look good in grey but choose a warmer grey, a cold grey doesn't look as it if would work. Or you could go for a rich, deep colour on a feature wall. What colours, style do you like? New bedding to coordinate and I'd add just one large statement cushion. I'd also add a bigger mirror in the room. Do you have pictures of the other side of the room? Buy a nice bin, some of the wire industriał style ones look good.

I would recommend white painted walls. Add accessories that are colorful if you wish. You can change it anytime you want. Depending on the space, I would definitely add something like raw thick tree branch. You can then make some fairy doors on it in color. Interaction with a child making these doors :) I would also choose funky prints of animals over the decals. Or have some animal heads hung on the walls. Children loves cozy spaces canopy is the thin. I would recommend Numero 74. I love their range of colors and quality. Add some cool pillows. If you are into diy, make some. Paint on it, embroider, use different techniques to apply color and texture to the room. Have more than one lighting source: fairylights, floor lamp, etc. If you want something really cool: cover ceiling in polka dots. Don't paint it. You can cut out some cardpaper circles and stick it with blutack. Use different sizes one color rather than having different colors. Take it off when tired of it easily. Enjoy decorating the room :) V

Hi Rachel. It's a really pretty room. I would Keep it simple with a cottage look. Depending on your choice of patterns and colours it can either be traditonal or contemporary. If you have the bed on the opposite side, you may want to think about moving the radiator as It looks to be the only one in the room so you'd be blocking the heat although I appreciate cost implications. Ŵalls I'd just go for warm neutrals/whites and use the same in the skirting. If you look at little greene paints, they come in different shades of the same colour for most so you could go a shade or 2 darker in the alcoves. I'd have a large mirror opposite the fire to bounce light and increase feeling of space. The ceilings look low (?) so same as for your living room you could consider a floor leaning mirror. You could also consider painting the wardrobe to blend in with the ŵalls and perhaps try it facing the other way. I'm not sure what the natural light is like but coloured shutters with wide slats would look lovely. If not patterned Roman blinds on a light background hung outside the recess. I'd add a little chair in the rhs corner of the window. I don't know what other furniture you intend on putting in the room but I'd add some lamps and if in budget some ŵall lights. A rug with lots of texture for the bed and then a pile of cushions and throws for the bed and chair with a mix of colour, pattern and texture. Perhaps a set of 3 prints over the bed
