I would move the utility room & shower/wc in to the front dining room, keep the door off the hall & link the 2 rooms with a door between & block off door from kitchen or keep this & have to separate rooms if you would rather keep them as per existing. Blocking this door gives you the option of extending kitchen units but means walking through to hallway to reach either facility.

Lounge to become your combined study & play room. Potential to have sliding doors into living space to join the two areas?

The back of the house can then be one space, extend kitchen with a peninsula off the rear wall where kitchen units end to right of existing sink, which will then give you your breakfast bar.

You could then have bi-fold doors across the remaining rear wall to the garden, the remaining space can be used for dining & an area for sofas-chairs with tv on wall or unit/storage.

Hi. i think the layout you've said works if you want a separate lounge plus a kitchen/diner/living space. The issue being you only have 10"2 to fit in the shower and utility. If you pinch 3ft off the existing dining room to make it 10 x 10 and 5ft off the length of the kitchen you should be able to squeeze 2 rooms into 8 x 10"2. I've drawn it so you have 2 L shapes. Nothing is to scale but dimensions of everything in my head seem to work! There looks to be enough room to get washing out and you'd need to ensure both doors opened outwards Into to the kitchen. It might be worth measuring it out properly.

I would have them opening into the kitchen so the dining room would be blocked off and entrance to dining room left off of the hall. Not sure re regs on shower rooms off of kitchens though, do you need a door separating them?? I'm not sure there's enough room for a corridor and then it means potentially moving the cupboard in the hall
