Living in tiny studio in London. Any ideas to renovate cheaply?

LED strips are amazing and you can highlight the smallest area. Go for daylight bulbs too. Mirrors also reflect the light back into the room. As for deco, If you want to get at least 8 people in. Something modular and that clears the floor. Think Japanese, to zone off areas when there are a group of people use screens, free standing or drop from the ceiling, from the void where you have the downlights. Where there are stud walls you can create storage in the stud voids. Choose bright and white colours. If still not sure support up and coming young designers by giving the brief to the amazing, St Martins, London Guildhall, or London College of Printing, Westminster .... Most of the images are illustrating our range of Little Greene paints or wallpapers (which are fantastic for period property homes) or images that are illustrating our industrial lighting range which work well with a variety of styles. See more photos for inspiration on our Houzz page or feel free to browse our website. We have lots of products that would be perfect for when you redecorate your cottage. Hope they give you some good ideas!...See MoreTiny! front entrance/porch way - need ideas!!
Comments (17)MATH, isn't the lovely panelling the open living room door? I agree put the coats elsewhere, but even if you do get rid of all of them, I'd still put some hooks on the other side where there is a recess so they don't obscure sight lines so much. Empty hooks are useful for visitors coats , or if you are going in and out all day and don't want to be putting your coat away constantly. I'd be tempted to hang coats low and have a shelf above them, with a mirror above the shelf....See MoreAwkward apartment layout - tiny kitchen & bath - need open plan ideas!
Comments (14)I love the 'where do you keep your elbows' conundrum. ^^ It was great to see your layout because it was what I was thinking to try and reclaim some of the hall space. Danielle also captured the idea of switching the bathroom and the kitchen extremely well - and I really think this works too. I realise though that moving the door to the garden will involve a new set of stairs down to the garden - a big change, but perhaps minimises the changes to the internal walls as a balance. Jonathan's idea is also very creative - I had never even thought of this possible configuration. I realise as I am seeing these ideas that I'm more willing to give up some of the larger bedroom space as well, even if it off-sets the fireplace, to keep the idea of the wood burning stove as the heart of the flat. It may be that we are a small family of 3 and I'm thinking of this apartment as a family space, rather than for sharers. For sharers, maximum bedroom space is probably ideal... but for a family, at least in our case, we don't need much bedroom space. Also wondering about making the large bedroom smaller - to the edge of the fireplace to increase the bathroom. And moving the kitchen to the main living space... but not sure if this is overthinking things. And maybe Danielle above is the simplest option, even with replacing the stairs.......See Moregabrielle99
