Bedroom mini revamp?
Comments (4)Personally, although purple isn't my colour, I think it's easier for both sexes to live with it whereas pink (raspberry which I love!) might be just too girly for viewers? Your purple looks nice and deep and I love feature walls as it gives the room warmth and depth and makes a small room feel cosy. The only thing I would suggest would be to perhaps keep the top of wardrobe clear - or put a couple of smart plain storage boxes up there if you need the space....See MoreColour ideas for a bedroom revamp in a late Victorian semi
Comments (7)Hi, firstly you are very lucky to have lovely Victorian features in your home! I would definitely look to lighten the room to enhance the characteristics. I would choose a soft light grey if beige to really lighten up the room. I would look to paint the picture rail and skirting a light, white and have your wall colour contrasted against this. Alternatively, you can do the opposite and paint the walls a very light colour or white and use the darker colour for the railing and skirting boards. Long term, you could use backing paper on the walls. (I live in an Edwardian property and it really covers up any blemishes or bumps for old walls) it will then be ready for painting. In the future you could also look into getting your ceiling skimmed, but for now a lick of paint can do wonders! Be sure to use a white emulsion paint first to cover up the red, you don't want to spend lots of money on nice paint for it to not come out at its best. Dark wood flooring will look great against a lighter colour, you could sand it back and varnish it, especially if there is wear and tear and stratches. For now perhaps you could use a light coloured rug? Mahogony furniture will look lovely and will suit the age of your property. Again, with light coloured walls it will stand out! Consider lighting also and table lamps to soften the room! Hope this helps I've added a few photos for a bit of inspiration. Good luck!...See MoreBedroom Revamp
Comments (12)Hi there! Carolina had some great suggestions. We recently completed a project where we did just that - a wrap around built in unit was designed that incorporated the bed, cupboards, desk and shelving. This room was tiny and we placed the built in bed against the wall and under the window to make space for everything else. The client painted the whole room in blue in this case (very much on trend at the moment) -you can see that even though the room has only a tiny window it still looks quite light - so don't be afraid of colour. But if you are not keen on colour, the same idea would work beautifully in a light grey such a Slipper Satin or String White (F&B). www.decology.co.uk...See MoreMaster Bedroom Revamp - Extension & Ensuite
