Need help with lounge layout

Hallo. So - my living room has high ceilings, big bay window plus double window on adjacent wall - lots of light, lots of space. All good. So why does every layout of furniture look a bit rubbish? I plonk the sofa in the middle of the room (angled towards the TV - sorry!) and it looks lost and cuts the room in half - I put it opposite the double windows and it looks squashed. I'm also not making the most of the bay window and the view across the garden - I have no furniture there at the moment. Any inspiration, thoughts appreciated. many thanks
