I like the hamajima takuya vases, I find a lot of Japanese pottery is timeless, it goes equally well with antiques or contemporary themes, elegance is a prerequisite for a Japanese potter.

I think it is beautiful and like something you would find in a stylish, modern Italian apartment (minimal white leather sofas etc) but I agree with minni101, I prefer a footstool all the way. I wouldn’t be without mine - it’s a great coffee table, but you can put your feet up in the evening when chilling. It is lovely though.

Jessa61 the table is lovely. The problem wth it is that you will not be able to use the ends as the crossbar will not allow comfortable seating there. I would try and find a table with 4 legs at the corners and no cross members or bracing. The table structural support would then come from the long members under the top which would need to be deeper. Colourhappy's table is the right profile for what you describe. How many people are you looking to seat? I would have something custom made as suggested by the farmhouse table company.
