Hi Michael, Sorry, but I have to partially disagree with you on this, daylight colour temperature is 6500K not 4000K. Yes, 4000K is warmer than 6500K but it does not give a truer representation of colour. Colour representation is measured using the colour rendering index or CRI. The closer to 100, the closer to daylight. The Megaman LEDs are 80 CRI for each of the colour temperatures. That said, the 4000K fitting will produce a brighter and cleaner feel to the room. However, it can look too harsh at night. 2700K is closer to traditional halogen fittings. It can look duller during the day, but looks a lot more welcoming in the evening - perfect for a soak in the bath. It comes down to personal preference in the end

Hello, I have just had a new bathroom installed but I still need to do the finishing touches, including splashback for the sink. I want something rustic and colourful and I'm quite drawn to Mexican and Moroccan styles in rough 10cm sq sizes. What would you go with, looking at the attached pic and would you tile right across the width of the table and behind the taps or just the width of the bowl? I think it would look better the same width as the table. Thoughts?

I absolutely hate those trim pieces. When you are spending hundreds or thousands on tile to do a project and then finish it with these trim products it looks cheap and tacky. Plus when you are using a classic or vintage tile those shiny metal pieces or worse the cheap white plastic doesn't match. Just ruins the whole thing. I suspect builders like this kind of trim because it fast and easy to use and covers a multitude of sins. You don't have to be a particularly skilled tiler. Nor do you have to do any special cuts.

We're having a bathroom refurb and have a copper bath on order, raw copper on the outside and brushed nickel on the inside. We've got honed cararra marble mosaics for the walls, and I've seen brushed gold wall mounted taps and shower which look gorgeous with the marble. I think brushed gold taps and shower should look ok with the bath given they all have warm undertones right? There will be a heated towel rail, wall mounted at the end of the bath which I can get in with brushed nickel (same as bath interior), or brushed gold. I'm thinking nickel at the gold is probably just too much.. Should I try to get a brushed gold toilet flushplate to match the taps, or brushed nickel? I also bought a couple of polished nickel wall lights for over the basin long before I'd considered taps, bath etc.. but I'm now stressing they won't look right as everything else in nickel is brushed. So many metals.. copper, brushed nickel, brushed gold.. I think the polished nickel lights are just pushing me over the edge!! I also need to consider hinge colour for a glass shower screen.. It's an expensive project so need to get it right. Any taps I like in nickel are way too expensive or not of a suitable quality. I added a few mood board pics..
