Help!!! Off-white hex floor tiles clash with white wall tiles/plumbing
Comments (39)Jonathandb1972, I was thinking of going with a grout that is the same colour or lighter than the grey tile. The hex will be grouted in a medium grey. This has already been done in the loo (the hex) and looks great. Neither are grouted in the above picture. Do you think there will still be issues with where the grout lines are if they are the same or lighter than the tile? Also, where the hex tile in the shower meets the grey tile will mainly be covered by the shower's profile. However, the shower only goes up to about 2m, so there will still be a visible "meeting" of tiles above that. My builder is a little concerned about how this will look as he will have to cut small pieces of tile to fill up the edge, which may stain once they start grouting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best......See MoreI want to create a traditional/shabby chic style shower
Comments (8)Hi Daisy, I'll build stud walls around the shower tray and tile or waterproof with showers panels etc. I live in the Uk and as far as I can see exterior french doors suffers a lot of rain and require occasional sanding back and repainting so would a shower be much more destructive to the paint work?...See MoreHerringbone Parquet Floor Inside & Out - Help!
Comments (8)Hi Barney, That sounds fab and I'm sure it will look beautiful. Just a quick comment on parquet / herringbone tiles after some recent experience on our renovation project, you probably know this already but I didn't and it ended up as quite an expensive learning for us; cutting tiles to a herringbone pattern is super time consuming! No problem if you get a fixed price upfront or are doing it yourself but having just had our new walk in shower tiled (2m x 1m) in a herringbone pattern I was astounded by how long it took and the complexity of all the 45 degree cuts! It looks stunning but I selected the tiles and pattern with aesthetics in mind and definitely with no comprehension of the cost implications :) Best wishes, Claire...See MorePaint ideas - dark green tiles
Comments (2)very very pale pink looks lovely with green, pale grey would also look nice or just a white and you can then have a longer thing about colour and you can paint it in the future....See More- 11 years ago
