It often does Jen. Almost all of my clients start with a layout package with me to see the project in 3D format and to get the layout that's bespoke to them, with only them and there property in mind.. and then get an architect technician to draw up the final plans if it involves changes to the the fabric (architecture) of the building. It gives you the best of both worlds.

I would say, paint it as you want it. It's your house, you have to live it, do what makes YOU happy. In our house, we have different colours in different rooms, because each one has it's it's own vibe. Rooms don't have to be the same colour or style in order for your house to be harmonious or to 'flow'. Because each room is your style and your preference - providing each room isn't a pastiche of other people's rooms - that creates a natural flow in itself. Too often people decorate and style their houses for other people's approval or for current fads, just do what makes you happy and paint is one of the cheapest, quickest and easiest ways to reflect your individual style.

Hi Preethi! You definitely have the space to create the rooms that you want. There are lots of ways you can do this. The main thing is to get clear on what you need and want from each of these rooms - how you want to use them and what the flow needs to be from one space to another for you to be able to enjoy living in your home with ease. Relocating it to the back of the garage is a good idea but access might be a bit tricky. You need room for the door without going through the study. If that does not work practically then the utility is a far better idea then under the stairs. It's a good sized space there is not enough justification to cram it under the stairs. I have been in houses that share a utility and a wc and it works well. Having a kitchen accessible from the hallway is always desirable. I wouldn't block that door off. It's very convenient for shopping, etc.
