Hi. What kind of styles do you like or are you wanting a sea/beach decor? Do you have any pictures of the apartment? It might be an idea to start looking through houzz or interior magazines and create an Ideabook of the styles you like. Do you know which way the rooms face in terms of light for decor?

It really depends on how you like to use the space. Are you a big foodie - always in the kitchen experimenting with a new dish? Do you love to entertain with lots of people round for dinner parties? Or does the large dining table only really get used a couple of times a year? Do you eat at a diner table daily or do you tend to watch tv while you eat? Or are you really into films and chill out sessions? It just depends on priorities and lifestyle. Do you expect there to be children in the space or will it just be you for the foreseeable future? Etc etc, the more information the better interior design can help to make the space fit your life. I’m not an expert in this, I work as a luxury goods designer rather than interiors. There’s lots of brilliant professionals on here that can help though.

You should also look at some space saving furniture, There are so many brilliant ideas out there - ottomans that contain extra seating, wall mounted stools which would work with the drop leaf table idea previously mentioned (otherwise you have to find space for them when the table is not there). Also coffee tables that transform (lift up) into dining tables so you could actually do away with the one in the kitchen and perhaps have a slimline coffee bar there instead. I guess it depends again on how often you will use the formal dining table
