Hi - are you set on having something matching either side of the bed? We had a similar issue so we turned a white wooden crate on its side on one side of the bed and put some books in it and a lamp on it and then the other side we had a small percentage me bedside unit that I painted white and we used the same lamp on so it pulled them together. The crate was small enough to use on the tight side.

Another option could be too build a shelf over the bed - I know the pic is showing a living room but the same principle applies

I also like the look lights in the other pic that deliberately go for an exposed cable look and would mean they are not actually restoring on a unit but they are not for everyone.

Hi Danielle. Thanks for the ideas. I do like the bottom picture just wasnt sure on the flex beng on show in such a pale room? we have copper and metal tones else where so a copper type dlex may work...it it exists. I also like the crate...its the right size for the space so may have to go with something like that. Add it to the list of things to do in the house.
