Good advice, Lisbet. Slight adjustments - especially adding a mirror, pictures and some beading on the doors - and it will come together beautifully. It's not far off being a success, Milliemae!

thanks ladies, great advice, I actually haven't finished the detail yet, I have the same brass handles on all doors so that is comforting to know it will work. A Tv is being hung on the wall opposite the bed (got to have my TV!) I love the idea of a mirror and other photos. The windows currently have blackout paper blinds on them, was thinking of doing full length curtains that will be pushed all the way to the left of the room when open.

Hi. The bedroom looks lovely. I would also go for curtains if there's the room. I think a mirror would look good over the bed but it depends on where the tv is hung.. I think the bedside tables look a little dark. Perhaps some white faux flowers and other accessories but mix up the height. A throw with gold/bronze in for the end of the bed to bring the colour onto the bed and also some more cushions. If you have the room I'd add an upholstered chair in that corner by the bathroom. You could also add a small vintage wooden stool by the corner of the bath and perhaps a rug for more texture which will add warmth

Hi, Milliemae, I love the furniture in the room. The two doors with plain walls make the room a bit harsh and cold. Maybe an oval wood mirror could help?

I would change the bed cover to something pale gold or pale pink in a velvet or something luxurious. Add some additional cushions maybe in the pale pink or gold as they seem to be your colour tones. Definitely add bedside lamps, mirror & a couple of pictures. Good luck.

Hi Miiliemae, You have some good foundation pieces to start which is good. I would avoid pink on the walls as it can be very cold in our climate and I don't think it works well with the gold in the wallpaper. Deep Pink in your accessories, including headboard, curtains, throws cushions is fine. I would keep the doors and architraves the colour they are and pain the walls in an olive green tone, for example Colortrend Cooks Garden. This shade will give richness back to the gold which the cream colour is robbing from it. It will also compliment your bedside lockers and your pink accessories. I would carry this colour into the en-suite as it will really make those tiles shine!! Good luck!

In terms of your window fixtures i'd suggest a roman blind with a cream or off white colour to match the current wall colours, possibly add in interlining and it will provide thermal properties. The black you have currently makes the room feel colder than it should do, you can have the same light blocking properties of a dark fabric with blackout linen.

Hi Milliemae, It looks gorgeous so far! I would definitely agree with the lamps suggestion. Have you considered some planting? It can make a room feel much more loved and plants are very restful in a bedroom. Perhaps consider ferns, orchids or a tall bamboo (these don't take up much space as they grow vertically rather than horizontally)
