@ghesp if you are thinking about planting bamboo I would advise to use some kind of a root barrier as bamboo can get invasive. Also it would be good idea to choose a clumping variety of bamboo like the black cane bamboo (Phyllostachys nigra). I tend to strip the lower leaves off so that it shows off the black canes and if you are thinking about putting lighting amongst the bamboo it would create some lovely shadows at night.

Hi I have recently installed some low voltage led lights and have switched the low voltage side to enable me to switch the lights from a specific location .In order to do this I have extended the wires slightly.......the lights were fine initially then they started to fail until now where none of them work? can anybody throw any light on my problem ?

Nice post. Yes, I agree. Particularly, re: number 4, customers often purchase lights with silver fittings to go with other features but it's far better to go for black or olive green etc., as these appear almost 'invisible' in the garden. Far better to accentuate stunning planting or a beautiful sculpture, than have a garden filled with shiny metal fittings.
