Hi Kathleen, have you thought about making use of outdoor garden spike lights? As spike lights feature an adjustable head for tilt and rotation this allows you full control of how you want the lighting to be shown, so you can showcase your favourite trees whilst at the same time provide some lighting for your garden too. in my experience solar can be a little dim but it really depends on the wattage of the solar panel vs the wattage of the bulb but these numbers generally aren't advertised. Getting a garden light with a battery pack might circumnavigate this issue but you would have to keep on replacing the batteries. Best of luck for your cozy BBQs!
