Very nice! Undoubtedly, coloured baths will be back eventually, although even at the height of their popularity I didn't really like them! White goes with everything.

I am a tiler and I used all kind of tiles and mosaics. Best advice ,as your corner shower will be around 800/800mm ,get porcelain tiles . In London,European Heritage sells porcelain with carrara marble print (white and greish veins gloss shiny finish or other color options) at 795/795mm. That would mean about 3 tiles per wall. around 240 the whole set of tiles with only 2 horizontal grout lines. For best results,use Mapei grout(you can find it even at B&Q nowdays. Add black matt finish taps and mixers and you have a relaxing colour mix.

Hi fellow Houzzers I’m renovating a bungalow and budget is now tighter than ever having carried out the full rewire, new heating, new hot water system, replastering, kitchen…etc. I now need to work on the bathroom. Image shows the plan of the current room which has an east facing window with a sill 1220 above floor level (the window is new and is fully obscured). There is a new door into the room, too, which is ivory and cream with horizontally banded wood pattern. I do have mobility issues but it would be nice to have an occasional soak in a tub and this is the best and most appropriate tub I’ve found. The radiator is a standard 1980s panel rad which is the last one to be replaced and can be moved as long as I’m prepared to dig into the concrete screed (I’m not against doing that, though). Of the existing, water hungry, green sanitary ware, the sink, pedestal, wc and bath remain and we’ve taken out the bidet (next to the bath) already. There is a single switched ceiling light and a decent extraction fan in the ceiling. I do have a reasonably equipped en suite with a walk in shower that has a minimal height shower tray so time for completion for the main bathroom isn’t an issue. Thoughts on a layout? The measurements are reasonably accurate. Ideally, I wouldn’t like to sit in the tub with my back to the door!

It will take your builder no time to pull down a brick wall. If it’s the one between the bedroom and the landing I think your builder will assure you it’s no bigger deal than taking out a wall made from wood studs. Just because it’s built of brick doesn’t mean it’s holding anything up. Building stud wall is a builders bread and butter and since your old brick wall would have likely needed skimming the cost won’t be much different so don’t be afraid to go further because you only want this level of dust and disruption once.
