Hello - I say 'go for it' we had our kitchen cupboards spray painted from wood veneer to light teal - ish - and it really made an improvement. The guys took the doors off and sprayed the front and sides in the garden - the inside is still wood and you don't notice it all - but up to you. They also sprayed the end panels in situ. It was flawless - no brush marks- and we were really pleased with it and if you're feeling really reckless you could get new handles too! This was about eight years ago - but I think the total was about £600 including paint and the spray gun ( the decorators had never done anything like that before and didn't have the gun). It would be loads cheaper if you did it yourself.

Yes and yes...........use a good multi-purpose primer like Zinsser 1-2-3 I prefer the blue, water based one. Then for your top coats use a Satinwood, preferably on a gloss roller. Slowly apply very even coats and then just build up for your depth of colour. Satinwood is great in a kitchen has better longevity than an eggshell, gives a nice satin sheen without being at all glossy. Of course if you want shiny use gloss..............water based again.

Thank you so much for replying quickly... will really appreciate a couple more pointers plz .. do you think there is a way to find an equivalent new clip and do a DIY reinstall of the clip? Re: a L shaped bracket.. the side of the drawer box seems to be metal so will i be able to screw it there or I have to install the L shaped bracket to bottom of drawer box which is wood and then connect that way... if possible, will be great to get a recommendation too (not sure if you can share a screwfix website link) Or should I send better photos to help ?

Thanks Dual Designs (and by the way that should have been "any advice", not "a advice"... typed too quickly!). The ranges I'm looking at to create this look are both PWS/Second Nature: the Alpina Natural Oak Matt and Porter Carbon bespoke paint colour - so those are the ones I'd specifically asked the designer to work with but he's not keen even though he supplies them (amongst other ranges). I can't find anything on the PWS or Second Nature websites about the doors being lacquered as well as veneered (have sent them a web query but haven't heard back). Does anyone have experience of Second Nature veneered doors specifically?
