Hahahaha Joanna! Honestly me and hubby have also invested emotion into this. Seems like we are in the same boat, rewire/ installing gas, putting in central heating, all the works basically! I would love to know how it all comes along for you. I wish we could do house tours on houzz for the amateurs like me! Whilst the amazing houses from interior designers and architects are so inspirational, not everyone like me can afford their expertise for first timers and would amazing to see what other first timers have done. Xxx

Front hallway- I say save your money leave it up. Cost of removal is minor but you will likely have to move radiators and electrics and make good plasterwork and coving- I say protect another £1500 profit. Present the larger back reception as a living room and present the front reception as the dining room. Given that the bathroom is likely to go upstairs make the downstairs bathroom into a room to access the garden- I would present the kitchen as a kitchen/breakfast room with doors to see the garden as being able to see from the front door to the back garden should pay dividend.

For high end I would use a good, independent bathroom company. Not sure where you are, but my friend used one in Stevenage, Herts which has a beautiful showroom, very informed and helpful staff and do the lot - sanitary water, plumbing, tiling and all the finishing touches. A cheaper option is ordering via a plumbers merchant who have a trade counter but no showrooms. They have endless brochures to choose from, but you are buying unseen so could be tricky if you don’t like anything when it arrives. At least online you can return things. One thing I like about trade counters is the huge range of brands and sizing which you just don’t seem to get online, or that’s been my experience. I would also research the brands and the sellers just to be sure.

When it comes to smaller en-suites and compact bathrooms, the choice of shower enclosure can make or break the layout. Infold shower doors are one option we see growing in popularity across the UK, and it's easy to understand why. The door folds inwards into the enclosure rather than swinging out, which keeps the bathroom floor dry and frees up every bit of usable space. At BestQualityBathrooms, we supply a wide selection of infold door shower enclosures online with free UK delivery. One of our most popular lines is the Eastbrook infold shower door, crafted in 8mm tempered glass and available in both chrome and matt black finishes a stylish and practical option for bathrooms where space is at a premium. For anyone who's renovated a small bathroom or en-suite, what shower enclosure solution worked best for you? Have you gone with an infold door, a sliding door, or a different setup entirely? We'd love to hear what's proving popular in different bathroom layouts.
