I think I would prefer to keep the French antique carved wedding bed in original condition as love the warmth of the wood and detailed carving. Would love to change the carpet eventually as money permits. I have a gorgeous antique chest of drawers also in the room but can't get the angle of the camera right. Should the carpet eventually be darker or lighter? I Will look around for some beautiful artwork and add some texture to the bedding. Your input is very helpful, thank you.

Sorry only just seen your post, Hope I’m not too late! Love a sage green. I have it in my living room on all the walls. It’s quite a cool colour but I love it. Mine is Cromarty by Farrow & Ball. My son has painted his walls in a blush pink with silver grey sofas and it creates a very elegant look. I’m not a fan of feature walls as they can be difficult to incorporate into a room setting, but if you do decide on blue then paint the fireplace wall. Here’s my room and then a blush pink room.

In your example picture the wall with the window is left white, so you could follow that? So wallpaper the wall ahead (with the mirror) and the wall to the right and leave the other walls either painted white or a matching navy? The brass is going to look fab too!
